this motif is quite similar to part of Floral Fields in triple deluxe, too! I'm glad they keep reusing it right under our noses.

I bet you that Epic Yarn’s final boss theme was intended for the final boss for the cancelled Kirby GCN game or something of that sort

I've known this for a while now never thought it was that interesting but its great to see it being shared.

Oh my gosh, I'm glad I found this video! I was listening to Yin-Yarn's theme a couple weeks ago and noticed that leitmotif and was thinking "man this sounds so familiar..." Glad my hunch was right! I don't usually listen to a lot of RTDL's stage themes and I sorta dismissed any game released after Epic Yarn because I assumed it was a leitmotif pulled from an earlier game. I guess in a way I was correct, it was just a game that got canceled and had its music reused in a later title.

The stage themes are underrated.

I bet these were all composed for the "pop up book" version of RtDL

‘Beyond the Hill’ (which the music itself reminds me of Rainbow Falls for some reason lol) is like a slower version to the unused theme from Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. It’s a pity that was not used at all in the game though, but the chrous of Floral Fields and pretty much Running Through the New World kinda makes up for it since it sounds simliar

I knew about the RtDL track similarities a while back, but only fairly recently listened to the Epic Yarn final boss theme and noticed the theme there too. Interesting that due to the various cancelled projects that ended up being the _first_ version of the theme in a released game!

Interesting! I've never known about this until now! Kirby's Return To Dream Land introduced quite alot of leitmotifs into the series, but I do wish this one was given more love... even if it technically made its debut in Kirby's Epic Yarn and such.

I completely cherish this video and I hail you for making it. I knew about that leitmotif being in those two RtDL themes and in the unused one, but I completely missed it being in Epic Yarn, so thanks for pointing that out. Also, that leitmotif is also in the second section of a RtDL track that isn't mentioned here, which is Undersea Walk (I don't remember the filename), one of the stage themes of Onion Ocean, thus making that motif appear three times in RtDL if I listen correctly. Other thing is that in an interview in the _Kirby Wii Music Selection_ album, a staff member (I think that it was Shinya Kumasaki) said that there were various tracks that were composed as "paired themes", pointing as an example Sky Tower and Road to Victory, which second sections share the same melody, just like the ones in this video. There are two weird things with that tho: One is that, in this case, there would be three themes that were composed as accompanied themes, instead of two. The other thing is that the second theme in this video, the Raising Ruins' one, isn't in said album, just Over the Hills and Undersea Walk are there, which makes that one of the three themes under that melody umbrella is missing in said album. Anyway, seeing the recent discovery of a theme from RtDL being featured in Kirby GCN, that Fly! Kirby of the Stars' internal name, st_halberd, makes sense as the Halberd was going to appear in Kirby GCN, that the theme of the new trailer of Kirby and the Forgotten Land has a very weird and strange aura to it (though in a good way) and now that this leitmotif is being pointed out to the public, I realize there have been a lot of Kirby music-related discoveries and things in such a short time spam, and I love it. I'd love seeing more things like those, as the background of Kirby music is very interesting and mysterious to me, specifically the ones of Kirby GCN / Kirby Wii.

I kind of forget that the final boss theme from epic yarn was a reused track from GCN or another prototype. It would explain why that melody is reused from some RTDL tracks

whats this song in particular called?
@Zolerian2 жыл бұрын
Which one? The first one is "Over the Hills", which plays in stages of Cookie Country in Kirby Return to Dream Land. The second one has no official name, but plays in stages of Raising Ruins in the same game. The third one also has no name, but plays in the second phase of the fight against Yin-Yarn in Kirby's Epic Yarn. The fourth one is "Onion Ocean", the theme of the level of the same name in Kirby Return to Dream Land. And the fifth and last one has no name either, as it is unused altogether, but it is in the files of RtDL. If you are talking about the name of the leitmotif itself, it has none.
