Hey Pianocat, i really like your work, you play really nice i'm kind of an amateur on the piano. I started playin it when i was 11 and stopped with 12 or sth now i'm 19 and started like a year ago but I feel like I'm not progressing at all like BESIDES PRACTISING is there another way of maybe progressing a little bit faster? like practising in a certain order or sth? motivating with sth special (even though the motivating songs are way too fucking hard/i've tried that very often doesnt rlly work) maybe sth else? like i'd like to know how you learned playing piano Till now everyone just told me to learn learn learn but theres always so much more to progress faster otherwise there wouldnt be piano teachers, THOUGH 60€ per month is too expensive for me :| dear dan!

I'm not pianocat but I am a pianist so.... I've found that trying to learn your favourite pieces is really helpful in learning/improving at piano as you can learn new techniques or chord progressions etc in more engaging way because you are learning a piece you like. If the song is too hard for you, learn an easier version and then start learning versions that require more technicality and gradually become more challenging as a way to actively progress. Dissecting and analysing these pieces can also help as it gives you insight into how the composer came up with the way of expression that he/she did, and can also aid in your own composition (if you're into that sort of thing). @@a.m.c8387 same, but I cannot rely on my muscle memory all of the time. I have tried to make note of the chords but it seems that only my emotion can decide that I will do this song. By far, I have played half of the Super Mario Odyssey - Jump Up! Super Star and almost got overwhelm from it (Mostly because of multinotes at the same time).
