Welcome back to SIR Rap Battles Season 2! In this episode, Kirby - the fabled Star Warrior of Dream Land - makes his triumphant return against Jigglypuff, the singing Balloon Pokémon! Which of these pink puffs will come out on top?
This matchup has been suggested to me by my sister for about a year and a half now, so I opted to make it a reality for her birthday!

kirby is the titular main protagonist of nintendo's kirby series of video games. he made his debut appearance in 1992, starring in kirby's dream land. the series has been running for three decades, and over thirty titles have been released under kirby's name, most of which are developed by hal laboratory, inc. or published by hal for co-developing studios.
kirby has the ability to copy the powers of almost any opponent he inhales, gaining abilities such as fire, ice, sword, fighter, hammer and sleep. he lives in his dome-shaped home in dream land, a country on his home planet planet popstar. his adventures take him throughout dream land and occasionally into local star systems for various reasons, and he has saved his homeland, and even the universe, many times from a multitude threats.
jigglypuff is a dual-type normal/fairy pokémon introduced in generation i. prior to generation vi, it was a pure normal-type pokémon. it was one of 151 original different generation 1 pokémon designs conceived by ken sugimori alongside game freak's development team, first appearing in pokémon red and blue
known as the balloon pokémon, jigglypuff is shaped like a round ball with pink skin, large blue or green eyes, pointy ears, and a tuft of fur on its forehead. it can inflate its body like a balloon (usually when it becomes angry; this is accompanied by a distinctive "honk" sound), or flatten its body, much like fellow nintendo character kirby. an exact limit to the size it can grow to in this manner is unknown. jigglypuff are characterized by putting their enemies to sleep by singing a lullaby. before beginning to sing, they mesmerize the opponent with their soft, glowing eyes and, if they inflate themselves, they can sing for longer periods of time. they can easily adjust the wavelength of their voices to that of the brain waves of a sleeping being, allowing for their pleasing melody to put its audience to sleep. they sing without pausing to take a breath, so if the opponent is resistant to sleeping, they potentially run out of air. game freak's staff have noted jigglypuff as both one of their and the public's favorite pokémon, in terms of both anime and video game appearances.

I liked how azia did the voice of Kirby they did it very well and the same for garbageGothic for jiggly puff, but it seemed like they felt sleepy or their voice made it seem that way but that added to the performance and I really liked it. Great job!

This is the first time ever where I straight up can't decide who won. Kirby came in strong with the Smash Bros stats and soft reset bars, but Jiggly's 1st was such a boulder that it felt like Kirby's became null and void, especially with the parents missing and rebuttaling when Kirby was saying Pokemon's a cash grab and flipping it to the Hungrybox bar, but then Kirby's 2nd had the best rebuttal saying your 3 seconds of screen time is irrelevant and proves that your disses and animation are both copy and paste. The only thing that comes to mind is that Kirby won by slightly.

This might be one of my favorite rap battles of all time. Before I go into specifics, I would like to thank you. You made my day when I saw this notification. I was blown away from not only the visuals, but all the brilliant references you put into this. As a massive fan of both Pokemon and especially Kirby. This is a massive love letter to all of that. Especially lines referencing how Kirby was originally a placeholder, or the harsh truth that Masahiro Sakurai didn’t want to work on the puffball after everyone just accepted a sequel with him after every release. This battle is incredibly good, there's some really fire bars and the beat is just really nice. My only criticism would be that its kinda hard to tell when kirby's second verse switches over to jiggly's second verse since their voices are pretty similar, so I had to rewatch it to actually pick up on when that happened. Still, epic battle, loved it

1 thing i've never understood about these rap battles against kirby is, why do they always say something like "you pump out the same games" when that isn't even remotely true? like, kirby planet robobot is most similar to triple deluxe, but they feel nothing alike, and it comes from a character like jigglypuff who's game style has stayed basically the same since their first game?

From a general observance Kirby has had a lot of 2D side-scrolling platformers that are similar at the core even if they have some gameplay gimmicks that make them a little different. You could say the same for Pokemon but the franchise made the switch to 3D a lot earlier than the mainline Kirby games did

I didn't like the concept of Kirby speaking before, but you absolutely killed it here. I was bopping my head the entire way through and this is always pleasing to the ears when I give it a listen. Though I think Kirby won because of his flow and slightly better disses, Azia and Gothic both did amazing!

This may be my new “feel good” type of rap battle (along with the likes of Skeep⭐️Tieel’s Mai Minakami vs. Mai Kawasumi and other chilled-down or cute-themed rap battles). You new Kirby battle is definitely superior to the original in diction, arrangement, and overall production (though Kirby vs. Ditto is a Side Quest battle, so I’m fine with that (and it’s still rather good)) and its writing is balanced to a point where I can see either side winning. The performers, Azia and garbageGothic, are my top two female FRB VAs (the former pops off with her performances and heavily defies rap stereotypes while simultaneously going hard in most any of them and the latter has the capability of rapping as both cute/bright/silly characters and intense/dark/serious characters (and I love how ironic this is when you consider her username) and thus is quite the versatile one). And furthermore, it feels like a ground rule that if you can commission her in time, you gotta have Azia voice Kirby in a rap battle (although the rule can still be bent). Moving onto the main discussion, I’m a huge Pokémon fan and was into Kirby several years back (I even have a good amount of knowledge on at least the 2010s releases (and Kirby and the Forgotten Land)), so this match was for sure going to give me awesomeness. This was well-balanced, and it helped that my Pokémon knowledge was able to connect Kirby’s disses to things that still made sense to show their potency. Jigglypuff also had its fair share of things to say (the Kirby Falls meme line was a good diss for example) and did just as good. From what I’ve gathered, I’m going to give the win to Kirby. He barely won though (both side had their fair share of Don DeMarco disses), and I can see this battle going either way. Another thing I need to bring up is that this is the first battle I’ve watched where Azia and garbageGothic are on opposing sides and I give the win to the character Azia voiced. I appreciate balancing scoreboard whenever possible (although I try not to rig things or balance just for the sake of it). Happy b-day to your sister, who’s turning a year older, and shoutout to everyone else involved. I look forward to your upcoming rap battles and the collaboration I brought up between us (me, you, and my best friend). There is no guarantee that I or my friend will ever be involved in the making of a battle of yours, though, and I won’t keep my hopes up. But enough of that, thanks for this masterpiece and I will continue to support you.
