Why we have two voltage sourses? 🤔
@fusetechllc13 күн бұрын
I am not studying electrical engineering. I have to know this for an electrician contractor licensing test. I studied Ohms Law in apprenticeship school, but never any advanced formulas. (I did find Kirchhoff, Superimposition and Thevenin in my old textbook.) My new textbook was too complicated. I found other videos with similar techniques, but this method works without having more calculations. Using the node rule to write out the equations eliminates steps that get confusing when calculating the current and voltage drops later. I had a textbook quiz that only had answers and didn't show how to solve it. I tried multiple ways for hours and days. I finally got the answer by trying different combinations of the various values. I had to add the two power source values together for one of the branches. But, I couldn't figure out why the answer was correct. With this method, the positive and negative values and current direction are determined before you work any equations. I got the correct answers to the textbook quiz, following this method, on the first try. I agree with other comments that your channel should have way more views and likes.

I'm 2 years late! but for 9:81, 3.21(I²) was simply transposed to the left side of the equation. Remember that any variable has a coefficient of 1 by default, thus 3.21(I²) was added to 1(I²) and got 4.21(I²) as the result.

min 10:48 does that mean the answer is wrong when its always negative. I get that we chose the wrong direction.. but does that mean the answer is wrong because of the negative sign? If so, should we redo the calculation? just so to get a positive value???

No it is not the wrong answer, it only means you choose the wrong direction for the current. The current is flowing in the opposite direction with the same magnitude.

This is a basic algebra question....The equation is really 1I2 = 9.8 - 3.2I2, but we do not write 1I2 we just write I2. (just like when we write x - squared, we write x^2 not 1x^2. (Although you can write it either way). To solve the equation for I2, you have to add 3.2I2 to both sides of the equation. 3.2I2 + 1I2 = 4.2I2 and the equation becomes 4.2I2 = 9.8. Does that help?
@deadspace47556 жыл бұрын
What's the name of the required maths/algebra skills to correctly do the calculations/equations? l'm not native English speaker, just needed the name and then l can solve my problem. Thank you Also, if we find negative results and not change the direction, will it be considered correct in a test? Perhaps it depends on the one giving us the tests, so asking them would be recommended?
@stepbystepscience6 жыл бұрын
Yes, asking them would be recommended, and probably if you are asked the direction of the current flow you should give the opposite direction if you get a negative result. Solving the equations you be algebra and maybe you would call it solving simultaneous equations by elimination.
