Could this be the beginning of the end for Red Bull in F1?

Is Mercedes at an end after the Hamilton era? Things go in runs in sports. One ends, another begins - eventually everyone has to reinvent themselves.

Jos has always been a driven personality with the EQ of a dictator….you guys nailed it, he has aspirations of either Horner’s or Marko’s position. Wherever Jos lands, I predict chaos will ensue. I feel for Max and Newey as this drama is overshadowing his performance in the Newey car.

Without Newey there is no RED Bull success story especially if he goes to a rival with a decent driver there.

F1 is an engineering race. So a mastermind designer is more valuable than a mastermind driver.

Thanks Kireth. Very interesting and informative. And typical humor with Adrian ending up driving the car.

They need to shed the Verstappen baggage - nobody is bigger than the team, nobody is bigger than the sport, not even prime Max (there are at least 3-5 others on the grid today that would dominate in that car...) Jos' drama and baggage could severely limit Max's career imo - why would you want that BS anywhere near your team??

51% calls the shots, so bye-bye Max & Co. Y? Horner as team principal led RB to 6 contructor + 7 driver world championships (as of 2023), and is on track for at least another drivership this year. His success transcends Max & Co., which is why he has maj owner support. Horner has also seen people come and go at RB, and now that the abuse accusations against him appear to be settled, it looks like he is preparing for life after Max. Coincidence? As the saying goes, if you try to take down the king, you better make sure you do. My guess, though is that technology will ultimately decide, given that RB gets a new engine in 2026 and will be w/out Newey. Still, not a bad thing if F1 gets busted wide open after 2025. Keeps things interesting.

Jos doesn't want the job, he just want the team to be stable so his son can maximize his chances of winning championships.

Complete BS, Jos is a evil narcissistic bully that literally locked Max in a go-kart his entire childhood.
@Quazi-Moto6 ай бұрын
@@richsoftwareguy Even if that's so, wouldn't he still want the absolute best situation for Max? Isn't the whole reason he raised Max the way he did so Max could get right everything that he got wrong? The answer to that one is yes. So why would he want to turn Red Bull on its ear trying to get Horner's job? Makes no sense. I strongly suspect it's all down to loyalty to Marko. Horner apparently tried to get him out after Mateschitz passed, so the Verstappens sided with Marko.

@@Quazi-Moto Makes complete sense. Much of his "career", Jos ranover people to get what he wanted - his criminal assault record shows that, literally. His weapon of choice this time has been Max. Consider Max when he came into F1. He too was a bully. Props, though, since he seems to have mellowed out a lot after getting 3 driverships in a row (likely 4 after 2024). I even saw him smile at Lewis once!
