During SAO, Kirito avoided actually being friends with everyone else. He avoided other's company so he wouldn't hurt himself. Underworld was a similar situation for Kirito, he was locked into a world he could not escape, where Death was a possibility given he could actually die, but instead of doing it alone, he joined with Eugeo, for two whole years, even more time than he spent with Asuna. In a lot of Ways, Eugeo is for Kirito, what Yuki was for Asuna. We have lots of friends, but there's always that one friend that we consider our best, out of nowhere, just out of incredible affinity, we just hit off. And when we lose THAT friend, we are devastated for years and on. That's just what Eugeo was for Kirito, his best friend, one that sadly sacrificed himself for him.

Man, I just love the part where after Kirito to defeats poh the only thing that can actually prevent him from doing any evil was trapping him in the underworld, but not just that, but giving him a form of a big tree that’s not too easy to cut out just like from the beginning of the story but at least that way he won’t be getting out any time soon from both that world and the real world

It might also be a callback to the last time Kirito and PoH spoke in Aincrad, or at least the last time we know of, during the Grimlock incident where they parted ways under a tree.

I FUCKING LOVE the moment, when Kirito stays side to side with Eugeo's spirit, and they trust each other on 120%. They really made Eugeo's character so well, that everytime you see any part of his character you literally want to cry. FIRE episode, i really remember when it first come out, and i was so hyped - glad you enjoyed it too. The Movies you got left are probably the Progressive ones, that are in some way an extras. There is nothing more after this season for now. But i hope there will be, because author is still writing next arc.

I just wondered after that battle of how the others were so happy to see kirito and one of them says I knew you come back. You always do, but kirito would say true, but not exactly I almost lost myself, and I was almost at my limit but I should’ve realize that I was still lucky that I still have people who cared about me and a future I hope to obtain with the support of you guys and the people that gave their lives for me, and yes, especially you Asuna.

At the halfway point of the next episode (there is a cut just after this moment I’m talking about) I’d recommend rewatching it in English because the voice over for kirito is incredible for the scene in my opinion. Man after that victory makes me wish while the others are glad to see him. His friend klein would be like: Klein: i’m so glad to see you man I always do you always keep coming back when we need you. Kirito: true as usual, but still, I wouldn’t say that If I was still at that condition I was in there was a part of me that didn’t want to be alive after everything I almost could’ve (as kirito touching his chest, almost showing them what he means, Klein stops his hand right there and 🥲tells him) Klein: say no more bro you could tell all of us about it when we get back home and we give you that big welcome home party for your recovery and victory. I like how Kirito end the fight by trapping PoH in the game though the episode didn't match the hype for Kirito's awakening. This is what we called a pay off episode, I wished Kirito would go ham and pop off on PoH for harming his dear friends, but I do understand why it was write like that as it is trying to convey Kirito's inner conflict. Also I actually wished they show Kirito showing his feeling on how he missed all of them after being away for years resulting in more satisfying episode. Imo it doesn't really feels like a pay off episode and did not match the hype but on average still is a good episode tho

Well to be honest Kirito did him much worse harm than just cutting his arm in the game, he basically decided to murder him by keepeing him trapped in accelerated world. I think that may be the reason or one of the reasons why PoH smiled. Kirito basically willingly commited murder, not because he was pressured at the moment, not in self defence. He just decided to kill him, he became willful murderer, exactly what PoH hoped he would once become.
