I would like to speak on behalf of the VA. First let me say I agree that there are issues with the VA, but they are the same issues with the private sector. The VA does offer mental health help for its patients, however, black people in general and especially black men are known to avoid mental health issues! So again these issues are real AND not limited to the VA.

I was in the military, after I got out, I worked for the military as a civilian. My daughter works for the VA. Believe it or not many people have mental illnesses before they join the military. I don’t think the military should be blamed for individuals bad choices. The VA has come a long way in helping people. Veterans need to seek help and always show up for appointments. If you don’t like your provider, ask for another one. You also have an option on getting a provider outside the VA.

We need qualified people in positions of power running this country! Running anything in actuality. If you wanna be a leader you have to be passionate, caring, & diplomatic, you also have to hand down proper punishment behind peoples bad behavior as well, have standards that you adhere to that you expect others too follow.
