I made several trips with Kirk quite a few years back. He was a terrific guide and a consummate gentleman. If you search social media you’ll read negative things about Kirk. I never saw any of it. Everything was by the book and safety was paramount. As for his calling, the best I’ve ever seen … by far. He had one call on his string, an old PS Olt. He’d call the mallards right to the water and want the first few to land in the decoys. The wad behind would then pour in like water out of a boot. Those were special trips.

Awesome video! I’ve never met Mr Kirk in person, but I’ve ordered numerous calls from him and corresponded with home through email (helping me with any questions I’ve had) and I must say he is always respectful, cordial, and an all around humble fella. I will always do business with him and will send friends his direction.

I’ve hunted with Kirk many times. Spent many weeks in the shooting hole with him. He’s as humble as they come and an amazing friend.

Of course he’s humble when he has your money in his pocket. Or convinced you to get your friends to pay him. I still stand by what I have said.

I can remember a time when you could leave your equipment in green timber holes on bayou de view.. them days a long gone. Race to a place now, get ran over and sunk.😮 I've never shot a duck or goose ever. Miserable time, wet and frustrated.😅

Does Kirk still pay a hole runner in a stripped down boat to get the holes out of Clarendon while he takes “guests” (who are paying regardless of the rules)?

Still calling bullshit on Kirk. Know what he did back when. Always cheating to get ahead. And, yes, it’s personal.
@graydoncarruth50442 жыл бұрын
Disciplined? You always had your guy run the hole off Spoony where the old tractor was. Come on man, drop the bullshit, you guided on refuge ground, had a runner, and got paid.

Sounds like you got your feelings hurt one day in bayou meto.

@@Muddyfoot Nope, have never hunted Bayou Metro. I’m talking about the federal land.

Yah this is a bunch of silly talk. Duck hunting use to be good. There are many reasons for the decline and reasons why Kirk was patrolled.
