Very thought provoking. It's so important to question ourselves, and not just mindlessly repeat popular sayings.

@Thingz4Sail Right. Much easier to believe all things just evolved bc a rock can eventually turn into a human if we just give it a billion years or so.

@@KirkCameronTBNEx southern baptist here. I just want to know why you worship a mythical baby killer that commanded genocide having babies slaughtered and let christian men save the young virgins for themselves for sex? Don't be a coward and run away like 98% if christians.

This was very helpful. Even well meaning Christians often use these clichés to fill a void in conversation, or cause they don’t know what to say yet it can an opposite effect and the other person is left feeling like no one cares. These are simple concepts yet very helpful.

People make the mistake in thinking the "good" is always physical or earthly. The "good" is for your spiritual growth in the Lord and for Heavenly Kingdom. And in that regard God IS good all the time.

Wow so true! My husband battles with daily multiple migraines from a TBI & chronic pain from his back being fused. He was in a very traumatic car accident. So when it is said "God is good all the time" My heart immediately goes to seeing him suffer every day 💔

@@lamantharichardson8778 yes He is...as Christians those are truths we wrestle with as we face the reality of our broken lives. He struggles with more than migraines...so our world looks very different from most in their 30s. It isn't very comforting or beneficial to tell someone "but He is still good, I suffer with migraines too" a more effective approach is "I can understand the dilemma between trusting a God Who is all powerful & has all authority yet He hasn't answered your prayers in the way you've earnestly asked. Because I suffer from migraines, my heart goes out to you & will be praying for you & your husband as you walk this painful journey. May He be Your absolute truth when your heart is heavy & broken from daily seeing your husband suffer in his body." Partnering in prayer is always most effective than trying to reinforce a statement & adding "I deal with _____ this too." 💖

When your mind is troubled with thoughts, you don't need more words, you need peace. That place of peace is with God and has been since Creation. "I am with you always." That's what prayer is for because only in peace can we hear truth. The Bible is full of words. We can only forgive ourselves (repentance) and others in the peace of God since Creation as God created us in HIs perfect likeness, innocent. Matthew 12.7 If you had known what these words mean, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice,” you would not have condemned the innocent.

Jesus never used Cliches. He said weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoice. Be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to be angry in wrath. Unfortunately often we can be slow to hear, quick to speak and very quickly angry in wrath towards someone. We often think that we need to speak out advice over and over again when a person is in pain physically or emotionally when all they need is a listening ear and if they are crying to cry with them. If you can't do this just ask the Father in Jesus name to help you love them so much you will be quick to hear, slow to speak and very slow to get angry in wrath and to weep when they weep and rejoice when they rejoice and you watch what our amazing Lord can do through you for others but make sure when they are amazed of the love, care and patience you show that you tell them the truth and give God all the glory because we can do nothing without Him. We can't even breathe without Him.

"Love the sinner hate the sin", is what you you say to believers who want to learn how to love their enemies... it means "it's okay to empathize with those who are blind, while you hate their worldly ways". You wouldn't want to judge someone for being born in sin (taught worldly sinful ways from birth), would you? I was born in the Greatest Sin of all - IGNORANCE. I spent the first 6 1/2 yrs in the orphanage, not knowing anything at all, but thirsted for knowledge... even to learn how I appeared in this place called "the world".. anyway, I know many of you may have been born in the new kingdom (born into a Christian household), but let US have compassion on our enemies also. It's not their fault. In fact, Jesus encourages us to love our enemies. Therefore, we should not put this teaching aside.

But someone have to tell lgbtq + that their sexual lifestyle is a SIN. Be kind and loving like Jesus commands but also Jesus is the Truth! If no one tell them about their sexual lifestyle then how would they know. Being trans is telling God that he made a mistake and you as a human have to rearrange your body because God isn’t perfect. As Christians we can compromise the truth in the name of acceptance; but of course being loving, caring, not shunning them from your life.
