No need for air filters on this set up. The stacks have some filters in them, but that is mostly for larger particles. Filters rob a LOT of power and this car won't be daily driven so there is no need for them. Don't worry about the money invested.

@@ToneOFTheGods For a multitude of reasons, but the main ones are no locks, and no roof.

There are no issues with fuel dilution in set up as, it is a roller set up, and it is not running THAT rich. It is running rich compared to the optimum target but it is also very close to the optimum target (within .7-1.0 AFR spread) so it is a non issue. This motor was broken in on the dyno for quite a while so it is not a "new" motor.

Correction on the video, the computer needs 140F on the water temp to start tuning itself. I have no idea where the 180C came from :)

magnificent car. Those Kirkham guys make great bodies. Out of curiosity what is the chassis like compared to the original? Is it 4 inch tubular or is it one of the rectangular ladder types most kit cars use? I love Cobras and I'm super attentive to little details like that. An original chassis is in my mind what distinguishes a real Cobra from a kit car or a look alike. And yet a fibreglass body doesn't worry me. Congratulations on the sweet supercar.

How is the drive ability? I have a friend who has a 351 in his and says that it is more than enough power. He said he can't imagine a 427 being steerable.

Kirkham's are no longer replicas, Carol Shelby has now signed off that they are real Cobras (and he get a cut). Still in my opinion its not an original but a beautiful car anyway

.. how about "modern Cobra" with new GT500 engine ! .. to show Ford what they should build today .! :) .. nice cars , proper aproach - 289 and 427 traditional engines .. . sad thing is that only nouvoriche ignorants can afford them !

Question with the 8 stack and no filters wont that get dirt and the stuff in the air into the motor and clog up the heads? sorry I dont know anything about 8 stacks only carbs and throttle bodys.
@nobody-yr1pw9 жыл бұрын
I never understood why people think the cobra was such a supposed bad ass car. If you are taller than 5'4" they are uncomfortable as fuck. They look like a convertible bug with a v-8. So of coarse it was fast.
@avmaviator9 жыл бұрын
I'm 6'1" and I fit totally fine in there. All depends on the seat you are using.
@ronr64509 жыл бұрын
George,You obviously speak from experience....oh, wait, no you don't. I'm 6'2", and fit fine in mine. Other than ringing ears, I have no problem driving for 3-4 hours in a row. Not bad at all.
@Aladinscave8 жыл бұрын
+George Owen Im 6"5 and i fit just fine in mine, you probably tried an early car they extended the later cars 2 inches so it has more space.As for a bad ass car it holds tons off records and build right they will kill supercars for way less money plus you have a classic AND you can build it your self in your own garage, it doesn't get more bad ass than that in my opinion.......
