The opposite actually. The US is the biggest market they send mk5s over to and is the main market thats sold the most mk5s overall. Elsewhere other than japan,its rare,especially in countries with displacement taxes also. Toyo was getting plenty of sales but was cutting the amount of mk5s being sent over to the US markert(not sure why they did)and manual mk5s are mainly the ones that had a heavy surge in demand that they're still marked up a good 10k more just cause they're manual and that they're rare.

Ok so. In Australia we have the supra coming to v8 supercars in 2026, basically our biggest racing series i think. The supra they announced looks just like the mk5. Maybe BMW worked out a deal that a special edition would be available to get the "BMW M tune" after a number of years. Although it looks like the M2 also got a little bit of a power bump for the 2025 model

Supra doesn't use M parts. At least not the engine. I would rather us the S engine varients. If the B engines arenn't already owning the competition, the S engines will just end all be all. WIth that being said, I'd hate for it to: 1. Not to come to US 2. Be a limited production car. I want the this car to be mass produced.

Not nerfed. Thing is, it's lighter than alot of bmws so it having something like the S58 would threaten bmws sales for the rwd m4 and the M2. Top of, the mk5s engine bay being too small to fit a S58 since the S58 is larger than the B58 needing the mk5s front end being redesigned to fit it.

The supra is very tight inside, if they did a 2+2 im pretty sure it wud just sell better, needs more inner space for both driver n pass, they missed the fighter jet dashboard and surely the lovely targa top, i understand that targa means body flex n lozin rigidity, they can keep support braces and have a square shaped removable roof with an intact frame, that wud just make it more desired in the market, the b58 is doing just great… maybe a new jdm authentic engine wud be a +

I'm more curious about when Toyota will address the 'fake vents' on the Supra when it was clearly launched with confidence that the location of these fake vents actually were designed to be functional ducts. Did they completely forget about it? Apparently, if you remove the fake ducts covers, there are design suggestions that such works were implemented. I am hoping that Toyota will revisit this and at least put the fake vent argument to the rest on its final years.

That's why I don't really want another one. They seem to be everywhere and the basic motor and body hasn't changed much since I had my 16GT. I've owned 3 of them in the past and went with a Challenger for something different. It's a good car and much better looking imo, but I'm growing tired of it after only 3 years and winter driving can get sketchy. I'm currently thinking of getting something like the RS3 or M2. There is a small chance I'll also check out the Nismo Z and dark horse too. The Supra does sound like a nice car too, but the styling never really did if for me.
