100% agree, every time I see these video I just think nope, it still doesn't work like it did. Before the groyne was built the sandbank was knee deep (after paddling across a a narrow channel) only about 30? meters out from the rocks. You'd take of about where the end of the groyne is now, and ride a tube all the way down to near the surf club.

MP was the only person I ever say who when Kirra was at its best who could take off and immediately do a cut back and reentry and still easily make it.

Too good! Not a big crowd. A swell this size separates the men from the boys. But the chargers will step up, and they smashed it.

Yup I went out Sunday arvo, caught one of the best waves of my life but paddled my absolute ass off to get it. The size and the sweep keeps alot of people away thankfully.

You need to go back to the70's before the groyne was built to REALLY have seen Kirra at its best. Because the sand just poured around the corner the knee deep sandbank ran right alone in front of the rocks all the way from the point to the surfclub.
