Yeh, those latex cuticle defenders need to be THICK if you want them to peel easily - with or without product on them. It takes a while to set, but it'll be worth it.

Faye has a gorgeous voice! Is she a professional singer? You both sound great together! I've seen Tabytha Scott do an effect like that. I think she's got a video that's from a live stream where she shows multiple techniques just with regular gel polish and I think she does a layer of clear polygel betweeen? I looked up Aeropuffing and they want $175 USD for all that. No thanks! Also for some reason youtube unsubscribed me from you. I'd never! I'm back subscribed and notifications on.

This looks so cool! I love reciprocal gradients! @simplynailogical is awesome at this, and she says to take the decals/striping tape off whilst the polish is still wet to make sure the lines are as crisp as possible! might be worth a try?

I love doing Reciprocal Gradients. They're sooooooo much fun. Never did it with gel polish BUT the latex barrier HAS to be removed before putting nails under the lamp otherwise you will have that problem with removal because the polish is dry on the skin. With regular polish, same thing. Latex barrier has to be removed the moment the 1st design layer is done or the crusty bits can and most likely will stick to the design and you'll have start all over again. Also, use the lightest color 1st as a base layer. That helps the other colors you're using pop. So with this design, put on a thin layer of white, pop in the lamp and then start with the design. Remove the latex, pop under the lamp again, put on a top coat, do the design again in the reverse, remove the latex before popping into the lamp then the last layer of top coat 😉

I suppose the Cuticle Defender is hard to peel off is because there's cured gel on it, so it's got more thickness on it? Maybe peeling it before curing the second layer will help - Halves the amount of cured product on it after all. Probably not going to help if the art demands even more layers though! Anyway the nails look fabulous! The black and white contrast creates some sort of optical illusion that makes the nail look extra shiny even before the top coat (and the bling)!

The problem with the cuticle defender not peeling was just that it was too thin. You definitely want a thicker layer of it, and it really helps to have a thicker liquid latex to begin with. I like the one from Holo Taco best cuz it has a skinnier brush, but Twinkled T has a really good one too! And you can get all kinds of nail vinyls from Twinkled T, including all different size stripes!

When I use the barrier, I peal it before curing. Also you could do the same thing with the sticky tape to avoid the gel polish to lift with it, unlike when done after curing.

What does the ingredient list of the cuticle defender look like? Because to me it seems like it's just liquid latex and in that case you should be able to easily remove it with oil and gently scrubbing.

Awesome sauce design, it sorta looks like you used silver chrome on the middle between the black and white. Really think that there has to be some easier way to protect the skin, than massive amounts of product that peels pieces of skin with it.💅🎨✨✨✨✨💖 At least I hope that there's an easier, gentler way.

But you want to put it a few times let it dry in between layers but it comes off so much easier and doesn't hurt coming off. It has to be the liquid Elmer's glue.
