Kishor Desai, the ace Mandolin player of Film industry is playing a popular Shankar Jaykishan number on his Mandilin. An octagenerian, Shri Desai has been playing Mandolin in the industry for last 65 years and is still going strong. The Young lady accompying him is his disciple, Aishwarya Pagare. They were recorded while performing in a programme organized by 'Gramophone Club' at Amdavad.

Kishor Desai is my Guru. I have played the same A5 two point Gibson mandolin in his home. It is very sweet sounding mandolin. And when such mandolin is played by Kishor Desaiji then nothing to explain. It is incomparable!

Indeed, 1950, 1960 and 1970s era was a golden era of Hindi film music and the songs that were composed during this period are immortal and even today widely considered to be among the greatest and melodious songs of all time!
