However, If you look at the history of Hindi film music, Rafi Saab was always way ahead of all his contemporaries. Except R.D. Burman, all music Directors like Madan Mohan, Ravi, Naushad, Shankar- Jaikishan, S D Burmsn, Lakshmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanjil Anandji, Roshan etc have used Rafi Saab for a majority of their compositions. Kishore Da shot into prominence because the phenomenon - Rajesh Khanna wanted to create a new trend and have a 'voice' for himself. With the downfall of Rajesh Khanna, Rafi was once again supreme- from 'Teri Galiyon me rakhenge Kadam' , Laila Majhnu, AAA etc.

Music director exactly knows that how much skilled and capable any singer for any type of songs and it's absolutely true.
