@@vikingraven4156 It’s a pretty cool album but I think many write it off because it is in that period when they were becoming a late 70’s commodity like Darth Vader or the Love Boat, Also, there is the disco thing too. That said, the album itself is full of greatest…”Sure Know Something” must be one of their greatest songs..and yet not that well known among the general public.

Interesting choices. The classic material sits on top which is common in Kiss album rankings. Personally, I love Carnival Of Souls because I like that dark and grungy sound, but I can understand how some Kiss fans just can't get into it. Even Paul Stanley hates that album. For me though, Hot In The Shade is a distant 20th place. Half of the album is killer, but the other half is filler-and oh boy, it is some of the worst shit I've ever heard in my life. Read My Body sounds like the soundtrack for some gay bath house, and that chorus in Silver Spoon sounds like it was made just to boost sales of Tylenol. Terrible. Just terrible. Anyhow- nice list.

Great ranking, totally agree about unmasked not that great and too much pop Imo Lick It Up and Animalize were traditional heavy metal as creatures of the night was, Asylum was not as heavy as the others but still hard rock, image wise they became a glam band by asylum era but that album musically was still hard, crazy nights musically was glam metal like Bon Jovi, and the 2 new songs off smashes thrashes n hits. Revenge was a great return to form

No, you're not. Heavy and experimental (for them). Not corny enough for typical KISS fans I think.

Very close to how I would rank them. I would move Psycho circus up in between Lick it up & Creatures and definately move Carnival up before the two disco albums. That’s all.

It's just the imposters of Eric and Tommy being in Peter Criss and Ace Frehley make up. I believe people didn't like it because it was a boycott from fans. To wear other fans didn't know any better or just plain didn't care.
