This song always makes me think about the scene in Role Models where Seann William Scott is playing this song and telling the kid that the singer is singing about his male parts. It's hilarious.

My uncle is a huge KISS fan and when he was a kid he was at some sort of party area of a big town with his parents. He was at the counter of a shop or something when a guy in sunglasses comes and stands next to him to get something from the clerk. The guy looks down at my uncle and tells him nice shirt, he was wearing a KISS shirt. The guys walks away and my uncles sees him go into a VIP area/room and he took him a few seconds to realize that it was Gene Simmons.

Thank you for doing more KISS, like all the fans are saying you have to see them live. They are all about the live show anything from like 74-79 will be original members (Gene Simmons - The Demon - Bass, Paul Stanley - The Starchild -Guitar/lead Vocals, Peter Criss - The Catman - Drummer and Ace Frehley - The Spaceman - Lead Guitar). Peter and Ace left in the early 80's. Gene and Paul kept the make-up on for a couple of albums with new members and new characters before removing it for the duration of the 80's and into the 90's where after a few line-up changes they re-united with original guitarist Ace and Drummer Peter for a couple of songs at MTV unplugged. This triggered the Reunion which was announced by Tupac Shakur at the 1996 Grammy's. They toured as the original members again recording 1 album Psycho Circus before eventually splitting up again. They continue to perform in the make-up with replacement Members Eric Singer (wearing the Catman make-up) on drums and Tommy Thayer on guitar (wearing the spaceman make-up). Fans are divided on the new members wearing the original make-up, especially older fans. Brief fan-perspective history to help you know who is who a bit better when you see different era's of the band. Must check live from the late 70's and the MTV unplugged set. They are on their final tour so you should really try to see them live if you get the chance - End of the Road Tour biggest show they've put together. 2-3 hour party.

I brought home my friends cassette tape "Destroyer Album", and my oldest sister was not having it. tore it out of the player and started questioning me on every thing why I like this type of garbage etc, So I played her the song "BETH" a ballad thinking she would understand the musical genius this band was. It only made things worst, as now I am an adult, the song is about a guy not coming home as he is in a band making music, and the girl is at home waiting, but he never comes home. I get it now, but it is still a cool song, love it till this day, KISS is my ultimate first band I stan

You should check out Ace Frehley and the Kiss solo albums. Ace imo is one of the best/most influential guitarists of his era. He can also sing very well. His solo album smashed the others in sales. First check out Snow Blind and Strutter then his true solo work like Rock Soldier and then some of his current work. I grew up as a kid in the late 70s early 80 and Kiss was the way. Finally got to see Kiss with Frehley and Peter in '96

First of all, it was not a gimmick, I grew up in the 80's, When Kiss started the makeup, it was for a Halloween show and they never meant for it to go past that single show but, the crowd and news media the next day ate it up so, they kept it. It would later inspire what is now known as ROCK art and just about all albums today were inspired by what Kiss did with their albums then. Also Ace Freely was at the time, probably the best guitar player of his time. He would later pass away, leaving an incredible legacy but, it was a sad story when he passed, the band was never quit the same. I suggest you guys check out another song they wrote called Detroit Rock City. They would later be moralized in cartoons with Scooby Doh and later make their own movie which you can watch here on youtube.

People often bash KISS because of their makeup, but they basically pioneered what all the '80's rock bands would become. Before Metallica in the late 80's, pretty much all the modern rockers were glam bands. KISS are the forefathers of hard rock/ heavy metal. I wouldn't rate any of the band members as top 20 best, but as a band they deserve a lot of credit for what rock and roll is today, whether anyone wants to admit it or not.
