One of the greatest dance moments in cinema; it's absolutely masterful. Fosse goes all out, truly establishing his legendary "signature" posturing in this scene. With Haney, the duo are so effective in actually "feeling" the emotive of the superb jazz instrumental - I get verklempt.

Tommy Rall was so fantastically talented in this and 7 Brides for 7 Brothers!😁😁The other dancers were great too. Thanks for posting.

How cool. Showing ballet, tap, and jazz schools of dance. Love it.

Just shows it does not take vulgar moves to be sexy. This sequence is fantastic, athletic and sexy all at once ( esp. the Fosse / Haney sequence). I love it, this is one of the best dancing routines from the MGM musicals (and I mean ALL of them including those with Fred and Gene).

WOW, WOW, WOW!! Haven't seen this since we did Kiss Me Kate in High School in the 80s!! Forgot how Special and Spectacular this dance sequence is!! We had a great choreographer who was very patient. I could dance well but I needed every bit of that patience because of my lack of experience.. but once I got it, I got it good!! What a Blast we had doing this legendary Musical!

One of the greatest dance numbers from the best film musicals. Six top dancers - Tommy Rall, Ann Miller, Bobby Van, Jeanne Coyne, Bob Fosse, and Carol Haney. Fosse did the choreography for his and Haney's routine; incredible that two masters were able to work together on this short bit, and even better that we can still view their talents decades later.

On the basis of Bob Fosse's choreography for his and Carol Haney's section of this number Jerome Robbins hired Bob Fosse to choreograph The Pajama Game in 1954, Fosse's first job choreographing on B'way. For that show he created the Steam Heat number for Carol Haney, Buzz MIller and Peter Gennaro. Haney and Miller danced it again in the 1957 Pajama Game film, with Ken Leroy instead of Gennaro. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqTdeaR_jbZliJo Early in the run of the Pajama Game Haney seriously injured her ankle. Her understudy was Shirley MacLaine. Producer Hal Wallis, in the audience that night signed Shirley to her first film contract on the basis of her performance that night.

While 'Kiss me Kate' was a very enjoyable musical starring Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson, this shot from the film featured , undoubtedly, Hollywood's best classical dancers comprising Ann Miller [most popular of the lot], Tommy Rall [my top fave], Bobby Van, Bob Fosse and Carol Haney. Their footwork is unparalleled, mind-blowing in its intricacy. No one could ever compete with Hollywood musicals of the 40's and 50's. They will always hold a significant place in musical history. I can never tire of watching Tommy Rall and Vera Ellen dance, these two I believe were the best dancers Hollywood ever had.

Before we had 'reality' stars we had stars with real talent !

Carol Haney was a superb dancer. I have often wondered why MGM did not build her into a star as they did Cyd Charisse and Ann Miller.

The highlight of an otherwise so-so movie, the screen's first look at the Fosse choreographic style, and not a song from "Kiss Me Kate" (Cole Porter wrote it for his next musical, "Out of This World," but it got cut from that).

That's not Ann Miller. His dance partner was another woman.

Well, wrong. Ann Miller played the role of Bianca. She is teamed up with Tommy Rall.
