I was in the audience for this ep (and the rest of Series 3) - it took us a good few minutes to stop laughing at that last scene! Interestingly that wasn't originally intended to be the final scene, there was another one filmed after that which ended up being cut from the episode. It's a bit vague now 16 years later, but they were all sat down for Christmas dinner in Kate's flat, and Douglas had put an expensive ring somewhere on the Christmas tree for Kate - which I think ended up getting lost.

Oh wow would love to hear more of your experience watching this live while it was recorded - I've only been once to a live recording of Not Going Out sitcom with Lee Mack - it was fab really enjoyed the experience
