Belle's solo is so...unexpected, like it's so real. Cinematic but real. The storytelling is superb af, the emotion and actors are so amazing for that whole 3mins.

Here's some info about the members, including some clarifications of some rumors that you might hear: Julie(2000): Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer; the shortest member(163 cm); born in Hawaii and fluent in English, moved to South Korea when she was 13; previously trained at YG's The Black Label and Swing Entertainment(with Natty); overall training period= 6 years; participated in writing/composing their songs 'Shhh'(lyrics), 'Bye My Neverland'(lyrics, composition), 'Nobody Knows'(lyrics), and she said she actually wrote almost the entirety of the lyrics for the English version of 'Bad News'; also participated in making the choreo for 'Bad News' with Natty Natty(2002): Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, Sub-Vocalist(the last two positions aren't official but come from Melon and are generally accepted by fans); Thai, moved to South Korea when she was 11; previously trained at SM, JYP, and Swing entertainment(with Julie) in that order; overall training period= 10 years; particpated in the idol survival programs 'Sixteen'(made TWICE) and 'Idol School'(made fromis_9); debuted as a soloist under Swing Entertainment in 2020 with the song 'Nineteen', second/last solo release was 'Teddy Bear'; participated in writing/composing their songs 'Shhh'(composition), and 'My 808'(lyrics); also participated in making the choreo for here solo 'Sugarcoat' and 'Bad News'(with Julie) Belle(2004): Main Vocalist(also one of the group's main music producers/songwriters); born in Seattle and lived there for 8-9 years and fluent in English; her father is a famous Korean singer named Shim Shin; there were rumors she was an SM trainee but this isn't true, she actually used to participate in SM Song Camps as a songwriter; overall training period= a little over a year; participated in writing/composing PURPLE K!SS's 'Find You'(composition), (G)I-DLE Miyeon's 'Softly' and 'Charging'(both composition), and LE SSERAFIM's 'Unforgiven'(lyrics, composition); she won the 'Proud Korean Grand Prize' in the composer category at the '2023 Korea Best Brand Awards' because of 'Unforgiven'; also provided background vocals for NCT Mark's 'Child', LE SSERAFIM's 'Eve, Psyche, and the Bluebeard's Wife', and the theme song for HYBE's 'R U Next?' 'R.U.N.' sung by Suzy; participated in writing/composing their songs 'Shhh'(lyrics, composition), 'Countdown'(lyrics, composition), 'My 808'(lyrics), and 'Says It'(lyrics, composition) Haneul(2005): Maknae and Lead Vocalist(not official but comes from Melon and is generally accepted by fans); the tallest member(169 cm); Korean born-and-raised, from Suwon; there were rumors that she previously trained at HYBE but this isn't true; overall training period= a little over a year; the only member who wasn't casted by the group's Creative Director(Lee Hae-In) and was chosen to join the group by the other 3 members; participated in composing their song 'Bye My Neverland'; you might see some people say KIOF is an all-adult group but Haneul is actually still a minor since the legal age of majority in South Korea is 19(she and the other members have talked about this a few times now); the only member without any pre-debut exposure so she's not as well-known as the other members The group is under S2 Entertainment and was created by Lee Hae-in; she participated in 'Idol School' with Natty where she actually placed 1st but she was rigged out of the debut group(fromis_9). She has a channel where she shares some behind-the-scenes content about KIOF and talks about what she does as a creative director called '하이해인 Hi HAE-IN'.

Natty gets hit by Julie and everyone sees this. Natty tries to brush it off but collapses in front of Belle. I think the music video shows the aftermath. so that means Belle and Julie helped her into Julie's car and Julie took them both back to her place. You can tell that since Natty is uncomfortable in the fact she has no idea where she that they don't live together. she re-meets Julie. she instantly recognizes her as the girl who hit her with her car and tries to leave but Julie makes her go back inside into the kitchen where Belle comes in. Julie wraps Natty's arm up and Belle decorates it. I assume it's during that time they get slightly aquainted with each other and Julie and Belle decide that they wanna cheer Natty up so they go to Julie's room and they have fun dressing up and picking out outfits and helping Natty with her hair and makeup and decide to go out and do something either as part of the orignal cheer Natty up plan or after just to go have some fun after their dramatic stressful and painful I'll say week. that leads them to meeting Haneul. They all come together and support one another and specifically form the group. originally i thought it was to help Natty but I think the story infers that they all wanted to do the audition since it piqued all their interest. I thought that because we see a parallel shot of natty alone until she runs up the stairs and looks back and she's not alone anymore and has support from the other girls. but I think that the point is that they all helped each other. Julie the aimless party girl who wants to do something with her life she just doesn't know what. Natty the homeless dreamer who wants to make her dream a reality but lacks confidence and is insecure. Belle the product of a projected dream of her mom wanting to not follow that path but blaze her own one and wants to be herself. Haneul the young girl who wants to be popular and famous who's super creative but impatient and shy. Together they help each other realize their shared dream and help push, support, and give confidence to each other.

So Natty is homeless in this MV lore, Belle ran away from home and Julie has her own place. Julie took Natty in to help her get healthy. Natty's failure during the audition represents her failures to go Solo (Nineteen and Teddy Bear). Them succeeding during the group audition is them succeeding as a group. Belle's parents are Korean and American (shes from Seattle her dad is a kpop artist himself). Haneul, aka BopSky, aka boss baby, was the only member who auditioned to be a part of the group. Hence them finding her and protecting her during the last video. They all chose her cause her voice is so clear and shes so visually beautiful.

I remember Natty releasing her solo debut song Sixteen. I never watched the Sixteen survival show known to make Twice. I wasn't able to find where to watch it esp at that time.
