You guys listen to me , please. LOL I don't like not one single KISS song, nor did I understand the "Kiss Army" era Fandom, or really anything about them that's good. However, I never perceived them from a fan or Hard Rock historian context, but more from a kid of the 80s/early 90s who puzzled at these painted up Rockers who older people seemed to love. I didn't like him through my childhood/formative yrs/or young adulthood, BUT I've come to appreciate blowhards, know-it-alls, Ribbers (as in Ribbing= always an annoying if not outright kind of prank, practical joke, or even a sharp/barbed insulting comment especially by men/boys, especially mocking the target's sexual prowess, proclivities, preferences or usually lack thereof or just constantly calling them gay or homo etc..) and I miss those "Old guard" specimens of just "dudes" now as "Old(er) dudes". Adam, we all probably like, as he's easy to like if you are a practical, pragmatist, or generally Objectivist-ish dude/guy. It takes a little subtle effort of thought to come to appreciate (not love or like them but just not hate all over them about everything which has become popular with people regarding Gene as he ages and blabs more in interviews.) those shrinking # of males. One thing that pushed me in this direction slowly over the years, was finding out his/kiss' origins. They were all nice young Jewish boys, yes. They were not from Rich, influential families though, and they had REALLY dorky awkward phases through their adolescent yrs, and sort of "Turned into Rockstars" almost like a tradesman turns into a good professional worker. I admire that about them, but that's all, because I'm from a family of musicians who weren't world-beaters, but made a little living, and raised me in front of Keyboards/Synths, Guitars elec & acoustic, and percussion (my dad had an old Tama set that were actually maple which I didn't know the difference I just knew we had them and I could bang around on any of them) which I became proficient at each instrument varying from guitar at age 6 (playing 3 chord riffs by ear at first) to age 8 on Synths/piano (picking up little melodies and chord changes like the snoopy cartoon theme and many others) then to age 10 (got more serious about learning actual percussion and could naturally hold a beat with almost any time signature no matter how wild it was, but I wasn't Neal Peart/Chad Wackerman or anything) Edit: After telling My life story I forgot to add that my last point was I appreciate those old dinosaurs, but my musical background info was merely added to make the point that I'm a music "Snob" and Kiss sounds terrible to me, LOL but I got it honest....I've logged so many 1000s of hours on instruments and creativity that I have exceptionally Strong probably Ego-driven opinions of what is good or what sucks ass. Like Adam says there IS AN OBJECTIVE truth about certain things, it ain't just "well, that's just you're subjective personal opinion" LOL NOPE!! The average Left-Wing allied person in America for the last approximately 8 years, is/are OBJECTIVELY bad and the policies OBJECTIVELY stupid. My observations and critiques of Music are EXACTLY like Adam's on culture/politics. Hell, I don't even Hobknob with the Lefty/Arteeeeste/so called experts of Music Theory and/or the critics who write about all of it. They would probably hate me, and my riffs, melodies, or just even my quick imrpov BLOWS ALL their shit out of the water, musically speaking. I'm good at it. I know it, and I'm not sure if I care to even prove it and go that route, but if I do, it will be through Some Social media outlet or personal Channel I choose to make. If you read all of this, I commend thee, and go get a job!!! Lol 🖕

Gene is dreaming when he says he was responsible for AC-DC getting huge. Their third studio album, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, was released in September-November 1976 I remember that being huge in High school ! Let There Be Rock is the fourth studio album by Australian rock band AC/DC. It was originally released on 21 March 1977 ! I remember that being super popular too. They opened for various groups including supporting rock acts Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, kiss, Styx, UFO and Blue Öyster Cult; They co-headlined with Cheap Trick. IMHO they are way better than kiss and are still out there rocking ! Gene's ego is bigger than his vocabulary.

I gotta stick up for Gene, I did concert security in Detroit (rock city) for 12 years and all the stories I heard of Gene were him going up to people backstage working before the show, just having conversations, and offering to autograph stuff for the backstage help, which was important because if we asked for that we could be fired but if he offered it was fine/encouraged.

The music industry collapsed in the mid 2000's. There used to be so much money to go around thanks to huge profit margins in CD sales that could support bands with multiple people in them. A physical CD would cost pennies to manufacture and it would sell for $18, sometimes more. The bigger the artist, the better the bulk price on CDs, the bigger the profit. But the entire ecosystem collapsed when consumers switched to streaming. It wiped out all that money and took down giants like Virgin Records megastores, radio stations, MTV and VH1, and with that it removed the roadmap for rock bands that kids aspire to follow one day. The GenX generation of rock bands were the last people to get in before the rug pull; Limp Biskit, Creed, Linkin Park, etc. Millennials got royally f'ed when it was their turn. Ironically, indie rock was huge in the millennial generation, but only because "indie" was the only avenue available. Nevertheless, even the biggest millennial indie rock bands could not touch the scope of financial success of previous generation rock bands. A new business model eventually emerged, but the industry was never the same again, sadly.
