Peter in his hayday made Kiss amazing, and upon further reflection when Ace and Peter, Gene, and Paul were in their prime it made Kiss magical on every level.Ace and Peter had serious personal problems that eventually contributed to their demise. Ace is one seriously insane person, and Peter clearly had his own issues, but together in Kiss in their prime were the best lineup ever, it is clear, but later in life Ace and Peter's body fell apart and so did their health & both are seriously damaged

@ControlledFear1 I think for the first time in years Paul and Gene feel like they have a real band on their hands. It's like Paul McCartney, he's 68 and doing 3 hour shows, and Paul said it's because the younger guys keep him going. I think that is the same for Paul and Gene.

Tommy may not have the same stage feeling that Ace had, but he sure plays as good as him. Of course, he has the solo done, he just need to learn it, while Ace made the whole thing, but he is pretty good.

Also Ace use to get dressed up in his Nazi uniform and show up at Gene's hotel door drunk out of his mind to laugh and yell at Gene. Ace new Gene's mother lost her whole family in a concentration camp but was so selfish Ace found his Nazi Drunken fiasco funny. Ace isn't the nice guy you think he is. Both Ace and Peter both have really bad destructive attitudes when they don't get their own way.

as far as I'm concerned Ace wasn't fired from the band, he quitted Even Paul & Gene wanted him back for this particular show and he said he was done with KISS. It could've been a far more awesome performance if it was with the 4 originals

Tommy and Eric are great musicians they just got thrown into a no win situation. They looked like the bad guys from wearing ace and peter's makeup but I want to know how any of you would turn down a chance to be in Kiss. Paul said in the 92 documentary that when Ace joined the band he was a great player but over the years other things got in the way of his playing. The main reason he left the 2nd time was he just got out of rehab and wasn't ready to go on the road so they decided to use tommy.

I have seen them perform, and I will go on record as saying that Tommy Thayer is a better guitarist than Ace Frehley. The band takes it up a notch with Tommy playing. I like Eric on drums, but he can't quite fill Peter's shoes, especially vocally. The lineup they had in Australia was their stronges, IMO.

I don't know what, and i don't know if you understand, it's like you subistitute Eddie Van Hanlen and put Steve Vai on her place. Both are very skilled guitar players, but Van Halen isn't the same without Eddie. I'll always loved KISS, and i love that 'new' formation, but 'i' miss the old days... Now i think i'm expressing my opinion better. =]

Peter has been sober since like 1982 so to say he wouldn't last in Kiss today because of drugs and everything is BS. I'm not saying he would last in Kiss today either because of his and Ace's salary demands. Ace is a different story since he's been sober for about 6 years and who knows maybe rejoining KISS would reignite his addictions.

@ZackPomerleau Get a clue? You're 17 pal, I was there from the start when Kiss boomed onto the scene. I've seen it all. Peter became sober after the damage was done, so it's little too late. Peter was on top of the world, and he blew it, he couldn't keep his tempter under raps, and even threw his drumkit off the riser like a baby having a tantrum. Ace and Peter are unfocused and undisciplined. It took Ace 20 years to come out with Anomoly. Very disappointing, they let everyone down.

@ZackPomerleau Yes I know Peter has been sober for years, which is a great thing, but he should have been sober when it really counted. I remember when Gene was drinking something, and he went to sit down in an interview, and his straw touched Peter's arm. Peter let out this big over dramatic and inappropriate yell, like, "OW" man what are you doing?" Gene & Paul and Peter's wife put up with years & years of Peter's verbal & physical abuse. Everyone just had had enough.

I agree with you man! And for me, Ace isn't the best guitar player in the wolrd, and he never was, but he is a legend and no one can deny. Peter and Ace are very very stupids, they destroyed your's careers on KISS? Yes, but they are the original ones. Tommy and Eric are great guys and very skilled musicians, and GOD, how i miss Eric Carr, but for me, FOR ME, they (KISS) lost something...

vynycx wrong, all Ace and Peter had to do was stay sober while on tour, but they couldn't give up the substance abuse and the boozing while on tour. They made their choice. Ace has become very boring and slow on stage and struggled to keep up with Paul and Gene the whole time. When Peter started to slip, they had to go. The chose booze and drugs over Kiss, the fans, and the music, and when you do that, you're gone.
