I think there is a sensitivity chip missing in me when it comes to family because when I see people IMMEDIATELY forgiving family members for the most atrocious betrayals because “they’re family”… I can’t connect with that thought process. Maybe because I’m of the thought process that family isn’t always blood. You can CREATE a family on your own. This kind of betrayal gets DUST from me. You’re dead to me and I have your funeral in my head as soon as I find out about it.

@@Angel_1983 A lot of people say that forgiveness gets rid of the hate in your heart but I respectfully disagree. I could say I wan't to forgive someone today and want to slash their tires tomorrow. That's something I've felt before. The pressure to forgive or you'll be forever damaged and condemned to hatred is just a little too much. I'd rather not forgive, channel any leftover anger or sadness into my creative outlets and eventually forget about the person. No forgiveness necessary. I respect your politeness and how we can have a respectful disagreement. that's not something I see a lot on KZbin.

In fact an example that comes to mind is in the movie acrimony where a woman is constantly wronged by her terrible boyfriend/husband and then her anger festers over the years and when he makes amends with her, she can't forgive him because the hurt and anger has overtaken her. Instead of somehow releasing the anger she just let it overtake her and that's not healthy. at my lowest, I was dealing with heartbreak from finding out the person I was talking to was using me too cheat on his wife while grieving the loss of a close family member I lived with. I wrote my feelings into songs, chapters of my memoirs and fiction stories. I also found release film venting on my other channel. It sucked but I'm good now.
