I’m 60 yrs old. Used to hate Kissinger but as I got more and more experienced and followed domestic and international policies , I now realize he is probably THE wisest of all Secretaries of State and has been right on EVERY single issue but unfortunately many presidents did not listen to him . One example is Iran. He advised Carter over and over to help back the Shah and said “ first control the crowds and mobs that are creating chaos , then have the Shah of Iran speak to his people and change policies “. And by the way, the Shah was slowly creating a democracy and had planned on backing down and creating a system like the English have had . That was 1979. He WARNED Carter that if Iran loses the Shah, the entire Middle East will fall into the hands of extremists and now here we are witnessing what Russia and US did to Afghanistan , Iran became a huge problem for its people and in the region , iran Iraq war, TALIBAN, alqaida , ISIS etc formed and the twin towers was the result of not keeping Iran as our best ally and the police of the region . The shah would not have allowed fanatic Islamic groups to emerge . Iran had the 5th strongest largest military in the world for a show of power ONLY . It helped us and the region but Carter was not a wise , experienced man . I have much respect for Kissinger. He understands more than anyone gives him credit for. He knows politics are dirty and he knows we all know he has skeletons but that’s just how this world is. We all have skeletons . The wise keep theirs hidden but they think of the long term effect of their actions .
