You can always attach an ak rubber stock pad aka " ak shoe" onto a triangle or wood/poly stock for better comfort and shoulder grip.

Very true, looks great too. The only thing is you are very much fixed with the length of pull, so your mileage may vary for short or tall peeps.

Ended up buying an Arcturus AK105 Carbine. Thing is honestly great. I know people have mixed emotions over Arcturus or so I've heard but I already owned an M4 from Arcturus I fully built and basically had to do a bunch of custom work in the beginning (before I found out retro arms makes an E&L billet aluminum gearbox that's drop in). So I figured hey why not do it again but with an AK. Great video! Y'all are doing a great job over there. Can't wait to get back in there and play! 🙏

@@miroslavsedilek5717 to be quite honest with you I don't use any side mounting rails so I would be no help there. Every attachment I have is mounted to the mLok rail and picatinney rail. Other things I've done are: New bucking, high torque motor, wired to Dean's. Thats it and the thing is absolutely great.

I think the the selector is more than easy enough to operate on an AK, you don't have to take you whole hand from the grip, just loosen up your fire selector a bit, (since most AKs I've handled have a pretty stiff one coming from the factory) you leave your thumb on the grip and operate it with your middle finger, or if you pianofingers, you just reach out with your pointer finger. That takes less than half a second if you practice a few minutes. Mag release is in the right spot, if you practice reloads you can get a tactical reload as fast as a full reload on an AR. Both platforms are more than viable enough even nowadays. Attachments, training and experience are vital on any firearm, so it doesn't matter what you're running, as long as you know what you're doing you won't be inferior. This applies to both real and airsoft guns

I've had the Arcturus AT-AK04 Carbine for a few years now. The dust cover has a picatinny rail (great for my ACOG) as well as a gastube picatinny and m-lok hand gaurd with picatinny rails of decent length. Absolutely awesome gun that has proven to be extremely reliable

I prefer the AK because I have huge hands and don't actually have to compromise my grip like most people to engage and disengage the safety, but with an AR-15, my hands are too large and it is awkward for me lol They are also sexier to be honest

You can always use the cheap reliable TDI handguard. The nylon fiber ones are always customizeable to your gun. I’m liking the new zenitco B-19 low-profile rail as well. It’s a little hard to find hand guards with the basis rails as LCT doesn’t make them. Your only choice is to go to evike or a Hong Kong retailer. There is a bit of a drought these days. Stores like trigger airsoft and Black blitz sells a lot of good LCT accessories. I bought a B-10M from one recently. With the new proposed bans, you have to kind of have been invested in this platform a few years ago otherwise it’s kinda late to get started now, as parts will be more difficult to find and import than ever before.

18:26 get an RS regulate style side mount. It allows you to adjust left and right to compensate for the offset problem that, to my knowledge, real AKs also have sometimes.

I believe that trigger is from Samoon, it is a gas gun trigger though so will not work with AEGs.

Nice video 👍 I would say that the biggest advantage to a AK over an AR in airsoft is a superior gearbox design. Even a shitty LCT v3 gearbox is more sturdy than most v2 gearboxes. Personally I have had more luck with AK hop ups as well, but I know most people prefer the rotary style M4 hop up.

Best things about ak over m4 is the soild receiver built construction as m4 isn't good at all WILL BREAK in due time will ak is thick stamp steel. 2nd is the range..... the range on a ask74u can definitely out range an ar15 mid length ad the gearbox is slightly longer. 3rd final biggest pro is limited aftermarket items. Yes I love to have limited items as some for m4 is really bad and poorly built and way too cheap while ak is built solidly and there kinda expensive but they don't break at all and 99% of then can fit all while m4 aftermarkets fitment is 75% so having a aftermarket built ak will definitely out do m4 hands down even if you build ask74u style spot on they can dominate your field.

Have so far not seen any evidence for spetsnaz or any other Russian Special Forces using HK 416, also if you get a good AK you can hit it with a hammer with no fear of damage or breakage, which is not the case with the m4 and the m4/ar15 platform is far more fragile.

They use AK-12 or AK-10, you’re right. Using the AR platform is going backwards since the AK can do everything the M4 can do and even better in some cases. I have read that Spetsnaz often prefer to use 5.56 when operating in areas where M4 fire can be present. As the sound of the gun *may* confuse the enemy since it is not the sound of normal AK fire.

I would love to do the same. The 74u is my favourite version looks wise, though I have not used any AK's at a game yet. What brand is yours?/is it metal? I don't care particularly about it being metal or not, just interested to find out if a primary with metal is seen as too heavy for speedy games.

Aluminum alloys are fairly ductile (though not as much as mild steels). They can lose ductility and become somewhat brittle with cold work and are susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement. Also, improper heat treating can lead to reduced ductility, although not really brittle behavior. Somewhat related, aluminum does not have a well defined endurance limit for fatigue, sometimes leading to cracking during service. Moreover most Airsoft guns are not made of pure aluminum alloys but zinc-aluminum stuff. So pretty brittle.
