Here is my in-box review for Armorama.com of the Academy 35(t) Befehlswagen. It is basically just Academy's very good 35(t0 with an added antenna sprue.
I recommend this as the cost to value ratio is in this kits favor. I will be posting a full build write up over on Armorama as soon as it's built.

+Armour Empire Some of their kits are great, others not so much. But this one I like.

String cables you just use white glue and work with wet finger tips in water and you can work the glue in then lay it however you want and when dry holds it's shape and takes paint very well.

Regarding the string tow rope, a little trick we used to use in ship modelling, (to make gun carriage rope coils) pull the string through wood glue, set into shape and let dry, job done. I still use this way on any string/cord tow ropes.

+Adam Mann ....Put a blob of wood glue on a flat surface, take string between thumb and fore digit, place string into glue, with a digit from other hand place on top of string end in the glue with enough pressure to keep in on the ground, now pull string through bottom of digit, this is so that you don't get too much glue on string, and get it all over the place...lol let it soak into string for a couple of mins, then shape and dry.

Perfect! I had been looking at this kit yesterday based on the price alone, and you review it! Thanks! Now I can make an educated decision about buying it, which I think I will having seen your review. Looks like a perfect little weekend model, nothing too complex yet still well detailed. Thanks again for the fine review!

+Sgt Bones that's exactly how I feel about it. Great little kit to relax building. Hamilkar did a great dio with the other version of this you can see on his channel.

nice and quick unboxing there well done adam :) the command vehicle is interesting, i do not make these very often. in early war period these were very common along with panzer III befehlspanzer. i will keep it in mind when i go shopping.

oh and I managed to build the boggies and pop out the wheels to paint seperatly. Then click them back in for finally assembly.
@AdamMann3D
@AdamMann3D 8 жыл бұрын
+Harry Houdini So you painted the wheels and bogies and still managed to get the wheels on without damaging the paint job?
@HarryHoudiniModels
@HarryHoudiniModels 8 жыл бұрын
I tested if they could be popped in and out before painting.. it was fiddly but could be done... after painting they did click back in, but there were a few minor scratches, mostly becuase I used Lifecolour and had not sealed with varnish.. but all could be easily touched up afterwards.. and it meant I was able to stencil all the wheels and airbrush them outisde the boggies.

Acrylic Maple 6730 and 6820 are beautiful early kits and 6383 is my favorite late. All I would replace is the tracks.
