from what i learnt from the translation , they arent actually genderbend but more like fairies based on the knights , barghest is based on gawain and Baobhan Sith is based on tristan (or the other way around?)

So apparently Gawain's sword is sister to Excalibur, and Excalibur was giving to Arthur by Lady of the Lake, which is 1: a fairy 2: mother to Lancelot, so what I want to know, is how come Tristan is a fairy, because Gawain as fairy is not much of a stretch from the source material

Sadly no Heroic Spirit unless they have ties to Lostbelt Six cannot do a proper summoning. Spoilers: Even the Great Calamity Oberon-Vortigern had to be stuck paralysed for over a year when he was summoned. This is a history where humans aren’t humans and no holy swords, so thats why only Tristan was able to be summoned, then when the concept of the holy sword was restored, Gawain and Lancelot was able to be summoned only briefly. Plus I think Morgan did something to block out all outside help from the PHH and due to the draining and incineration of the Fantasy Tree, Heroic Spirits were unable to enter either way…

I am guessing that for every knight of the round table there is a fairy knight equivalent. Obviously there are going to be some exceptions but as we get more knights of the round table as servants we might get more of their fairy knight equivalents as servants. Artoria is obviously going to be one of the exceptions. Galahad might be an exception. We don't have Agravain as a servant yet so he might be an exception for the time being Morded, Bedivere and Gareth are the other three round table servants that we have not seen fairy knight equivalents of.

I'm late on this but I doubt either Mo or Bedi could get one. Actually scratch that, Mo is a possibility. These "Fae Knights" take both the name and the noble phantasm of the original equivalent, it seems, and Bedivere himself cannot be a heroic spirit/doesn't have any noble phantasms on the main Fate Arthurian Legend timeline. Mordred is a weirder situation because she literally does not exist yet due to Morgan and Artoria never interacting to that extreme. Fae Galahad is a spoiler for story but it's pretty goddamn obvious who it will be. Dunno how it works as a Fae Knight equivalent though. Conclusion: Fate lore weird.

When I said Galahad might be an exception, I meant that because we don't have Galahad himself as a servant, it would be weird for him to have a fairy knight equivalent. I agree that Bedivere is a bit of a stretch to have a fairy knight equivalent of, but it could still be a possibility. Morded is also unlikely to have a fairy knight equivalent of. There could be a fairy knight equivalent of Gareth.

As funny as that is, I'm pretty sure it's actually 'Fetch', referring to the doppelganger in Irish folklore which sometimes foretells the death of the person it copies. Considering Fae Gawain's NP is apparently Black Dog Galatine, referring to another British creature associated with death, it's the most likely conclusion. Have to wonder what Lancelot's is though, and if it falls in line with the death folklore theme.

Not really genderbend since this is Morgan's version of the Round Table, she's taking the name of the knights as aliases. Fairy Tristan's true name is Baobhan Sith and Fairy Gawain's true name is Barghest. Their name changes when you ascend them.
