TA only when you Travel for official work. Like going to some place for official work other than your office. Training ke time se hee start ho jati hai pori salary milna.

TA se mera matlab hai ...regular TA .. Group B 4800/- grade pay Tak 3600+ DA on TA hai ...aur uske baad 7200+ DA on TA. 4600/- grade pay ki calculation (in Delhi) Gross = 44900+44900x(31+27)%+3600+3600x31% Deductions = 650 (CGHS)+ 60(CGEGIS) + NPS

Damn, this was disapointing. 😅 I mean, I kinda knew it. But it's really very underwhelming and less salary compared to even semi-decent jobs in Bengaluru. I mean, good for people who are bone stock unemployed or have crappy private jobs. But I guess it's tough call for anyone, especially to get 1/3rd of a Software Engineer even after preparing so hard for this. Agh, compromises for getting into public services. Also, it's too damn hyped up. I don't know what's up with most of the people in North India, like they never heard of any other career options other than being in government services, even when they really don't have any specific reason and have money as the only motivation. I'll be very honest, it money is what you want, you can get much much more of it by doing business or getting into IT. That is so much easier to get into, I really don't get people's unreasonable obsession with this, especially when they don't even care about the intangible values or about the responsibility that comes along, etc.

@@tikamsingh1714 I used to think the same, but my mom is a PCS officer, while I work in Bglr, and I feel she definitely has more work related stress and pressure compared to me, while simultaneously gets paid considerably less. Your last point of being able to make a real world difference is legit and is actually the reason I'm myself planning to appear in this exam... But I feel that most applicants aren't aware of the proportionate ground realities, floating just in delusion of this job having too much power or something... Which is most definitely not true. And Power too, atleast in my experience as the people I know tell me... is very limited, especially in State service. And apart from the top 1-2 portfolios, rest are mostly glorified clerical desk jobs. (Commercial Tax department, Finance Officer, etc.)
