It's funny that you said creating Nintendo Minute was your break, because to me it sounds like the only time you did any tangibly productive work!

Peach is one of my very favourite Nintendo games in a long time, it's so creative and unique. It's the exact opposite of Tears in so many ways, and I love it for it.
@llauram36508 ай бұрын
Lots of the stages could have been full games for me like Thief Peach. But I only want to play 2/3 hour games these days, so each transformation being like 90m of gameplay is perfect. The only thing stopping it from being a favourite of all time, is just the standard bland Nintendo kids story, but thankfully it's better than some recent ones.

Could anyone at Nintendo just knock at the door of Reggies's office if he needed something from him or was Reggie simply too "high up" and one would need to go through someone else if you wanted to have your requests forwarded to Reggie?
@kitandkrysta8 ай бұрын
While he had an incredibly busy schedule, Reggie was always available to anyone to talk about any topic and would make time to connect with people. Just one of many reasons he was such a great leader for the company!

Talking about Perrin brings back memories of her interviews with Matt Cassamassina at IGN. Most vividly one of her and Matt sitting on the floor at E3, and Matt's trying to get info out of her about upcoming stuff. Kinda sassy and super fun rep from back when. And oh yes! Happy birthday, Kit! Hope you're having a great one!

I lasted about 4 months in the corporate world. I worked hourly for 30 years and suddenly found myself exempt and on salary after accepting a promotion. I went back to hourly, with great relief, after budget cuts. The hardest part of working corporate is the unclear schedule.

Here's to a Happy birthday to Kit and to the Nintendo 3DS despite me not owning one, even though I did experience the 3DS. Its nice to know you both are out of the corporation and the stress of working in the office is gone. Not one 30 minute break, theres a problem. Its great to know that Reggie was at Nintendo to help you two, even if he has a loaded schedule. He served Nintendo well for about 20 years. You both gave it your best and thats all i can say. If you start something, you must finish it as well. I'm glad i was taught that companies dont create culture, people do. A well supported case gets the job done. Thanks Kit and Krysta for sharing your insights.

Happy birthday Kit!! Thank you for sharing your stories about the work environment at Nintendo! I am working in Marketing as a marketing manager and I feel overwhelmed because it is my first job as a manager. I learned some things from y’all and I don’t feel alone in this because y’all were very open about how the marketing business is. Definitely going to try brainstorming sessions with coworkers to market the company better (:

I hear you guys on the meetings. Honestly, it seems like it's everywhere. I don't have it nearly as bad as both of you, but At my work, (internal facing) working with numbers, we also need to do pre-meetings to get people (also executives) onboard before we go into the final meeting. It feels like a waste of time, but is essential if you want to sell a particular point of view.

"I'm an emotional mess now-" *Camera cuts to back to normal* Gosh, how did you guys get anything done with 5+ meetings a day?? Understandable they need meetings but on top of all the emails to respond to it sounds like it barely left time for actual work? Now I'm curious about that! It'd be interesting to hear the other days, but not if it's too stressful to relive. (:

Hmm-mmmmm. This is an eye-opening topic, Kit and Krysta. I didn't realize just how many meetings you two went to at Nintendo of America. I had a feeling that Nintendo is a very corporate, serious type of place to work. With it being a longtime, AAA company, they likely adhere to strict decisions. It isn't as simple as you being able to tell Reggie or Doug to "make games better" or interacting with fervent fans on social media. It certainly helps me put things in perspective. I can't say that I entirely sympathize with you guys, but I appreciate this in-depth look at your time with the Big N.
