I much prefer the dark green armor to the bone armor typical of Deathwing Dark Angels. The added bits you used from Greytide are simply superb. They look amazing on these guys. You painted them beautifully. What an fantastic trio of warriors. Alongside the Lion himself, the unit looks breathtaking. Wow, man. Great job.

@@thehammerofwrath GW has become very odd with the number of books they print. Why they could not release it as a soft back as well (other than greed) I will never know. I stumped for the audiobook as like you, I could not obtain the hardback either. The Cypher book is in an even worse state as you cannot obtain that at all except from resellers asking silly money :(.

That was a great kitbash, turned out fantastic! i love the Bladeguard kit🔥 GW dropped the ball on this, they should have at least made an upgrade sprue for the Bladeguard like the old DA veteran kit

Yes I was very surprised that the Lion's Guard didnt even have an upgrade sprue to use with the Blade Guard. Loving those Lion shoulder pauldrons. They look incredible! I would love to see more storm shield variations for different chapters too. Hopefully we get more in the future.

That's just the primas "special" marines they just have a different paint job than normal and maybe some bits from the upgrade kit so the Lion guard, death company, and the space wolfs are all wasted potential for special units

A trick for keeping the super glue tubes good is to place them in a cup so they remain upright. I use the Duro tubes, and this works for me.

I've since dialed in my printer settings to make the prints MUCH smoother! Fortunately, the layer lines on these models aren't really visible on the tabletop. (but they look really bad in 4K!) :)

Love the bits. But a little critique.. I think you need to dial in your printer or use AA. Or maybe try a selflevling primer or ak micro filler. or sth like that. .. The printlines visible in the video are a tad bit awful to look at in my opinion. Or get a new printer with higher res. Other than that very great video as always! Greetings from Germany.

Thanks. It actually looks a LOT worse on camera than it does in real life. It's a combination of my lighting setup and that I'm shooting with a zoom lens in 4K. To the naked eye, they're nearly invisible. I could certainly work to dial in the printer a little better. I have produced parts with no layer lines before.

I'm sure you could adjust the settings to make them considerably smoother. It's a bit of a mixed bag, as the parts are pre-supported, and some printed more smoothly than others. Also, I shoot in 4K so the camera is picking up a lot of the layer detail that isn't visible to the naked eye when holding the mini.

If you don't mind, can I recommend a Conversion of the Legion Praetor of Imperial fists sometime? Personally, I saw your broadcast when I was struggling to convert the Power Armor Model and Terminator Model into the Minotaurs chapter. Awesome! If you haven't decided on your next work, I recommend it carefully. It would be very helpful if a craftsman like you could demonstrate the work.

Grind Legion symbol relief, add Minotaurs symbols, change colors, etc... At the moment I was wondering if I could change it to be more Minotau-like, I saw this video. I was really impressed by the skill of the craftsman, so I only spoke about it once.

I've not had a close enough look at the new DA upgrade sprue included with Deathwing Assault. I wonder if there are any IC daggers on that. If GW has stopped making them available in any kit, perhaps they're no longer a thing in the lore.

It's funny, there's something about my lighting setup / angle and the fact I'm shooting in 4K that make it look a LOT worse than it is. In person it's not really noticeable. I could always fiddle with the settings, but that's 3D printing for you; there's always something to adjust.

Honestly, it's all user error on my part! I'm still learning, and I didn't have the printer settings dialed in properly. Check some of my more recent videos, like March's Space Wolf combat patrol, and you'll notice a marked improvement - with nearly imperceptible layer lines. (and those that are visible are only showing up because the video is recorded at 4K, zoomed in-- the parts are perfect to the naked eye, even up close.)

Kitbashing? More like kit printing specific parts. No digging through bits and bit boxes at the store. Have to call it 3D printing customizing. No one can kit bash parts that need printing out on a 3D printer. Different verbs, techniques, resources. Labeling this kit bash is click bait

The models use several parts from the Dark Angels veterans sprue as well as 3D printed parts. And yes, using printed parts is kitbashing. Those parts come from a digital kit. If that term bothers you, I'm not sure what to tell you.

That was a big joke how they just put those bladeguard vets in a box with the lion. They could have made a small upgrade sprue just for them. I understand the "Hey we need to sell old sprues" bit. But give them better rules and a tiny upgrade sprue and that will probably sell more old sprues.
