The nutrition garden has been created on the initiative of Pausi Orphanage. The nutrition garden of Paushi Antyodoy Anath Ashram in Bhagwanpur 2 block of East Midnapore is transformed into greenery. Depending on the season of the year, the Ashram premises is adorned with a variety of vegetables, including winter vegetables, cauliflower, cabbage and tomato. To nurture the children of the orphanage, this nutritious garden has been decorated by cultivating in the grounds of the Ashram and naming them after the children. And that is why the children of the Ashram happily study like themselves and pay attention to gardening. The vegetables of this garden have been converted to organic fertilizer so that they are not wasted. Rajiv Khatua, a resident of the orphanage, came to the Ashram a few days ago. he stated that this initiative of Ashram has inspired him, that's why they get the pleasure of cultivating themselves. Winter vegetables have been cultivated around 5 bighas around the Ashram premises. Apart from this, fruit trees like blackberries, coconuts, guavas and various nutritious orchards have been planted. Besides, the Ashram premises have been decorated with various flowering trees. Another resident of the Ashram said that they take care of the nutrition garden in the morning and they like this environment very much, And they take care of the garden together. Not only that, keeping in mind the nutrition of the residents, a large pond has been dug in the area of ​​Ashram where fish is being farmed which is taken care of by the Ashram authorities in a domestic manner. This fish is fed to the residents. In this regard, the secretary of the Ashram said that in order to make the Ashram healthy, all the children and staff of the Ashram had to take care of the garden in a joint manner except for the application of all poisons. In addition to their studies, the children have gained a knowledge of how to germinate and grow seedlings from this nutritious garden. And fish is being farmed by digging ponds for the residents. We have been running this Pausi Antyadaya Orphanage for a long time and we have seen that just as people are cooperating, we also need to come forward, how can we take some initiative on our own. So this nutrition garden is to make the Ashram sustainable. By creating this nutritious garden, basically the children of our ashram and all the staff are doing this cultivation in a completely organic way. This is one of the things I thought and was very successful about how the kids came to know about this nutritious garden, how they germinate seeds with their own, how long it takes to grow a cauliflower, how long it takes to grow a tomato and the joy of growing vegetables. As a result, I try to keep it nourished in all seasons be it summer, monsoon or winter. I aim to cultivate fish in the pond. The only purpose is for the children to be able to grow vegetables in a completely organic way and to have a good body and mind. There are separate gardens named after the children as we got our staff to make this garden, so the kids know that this garden is theirs. I think there is a different kind of unearthly joy, excitement and feeling in them when they sow the seed, reap the harvest and pick it up with their own hands. What crops are cultivated? All kinds of crops from cauliflower, cabbage, tomato, coriander leaves, all kinds of crops are being grown on about 5 bighas of land, this work is done throughout the year. Yes, we have planted different types of flowers like mango, blackberry, jackfruit for the kids. What's your name ? My name is Rajib Khatua, I came here a few days ago, I cultivate all kinds of things here, I like it very much, the environment here is so beautiful that I do not want to go home from here, I am working here all day, hanging out with friends which I like very much. Why are you taking care of the farm? This is to keep our mind free and when we get off time we leave our studies and do some work in the garden here, playing sports. Is it your own garden in the Ashram ? Yes, We are cultivating here because we have our own garden. Why is it that your names are shared one by one? Yes those who have names attend their particular place. What is cultivated? Cauliflower, Cabbage Tomato, brinjal. There are a variety of vegetables.
