Kitchen Litho by Valerie Syposz

"Here I am making a print using 2 layers of kitchen litho (a variation on the technique created by Émilie Aizier) and 1 blind emboss layer. The kitchen litho plate material is aluminum foil, which I have drawn on with a permanent marker and grease pencil. The plates are etched in Coca-Cola, cleaned with vegetable oil, sponged with a kitchen sponge, inked using litho ink and a brayer, and finally printed by hand with a wooden spoon. For the final layer, I cut out a plate from a used soya milk carton and embossed it onto my dampened print using a wooden spoon to apply pressure."
