This is a much easier way of tiling than having to tile space and grout, well done! I would also wonder if the tiles would peel off again when there is kitchen heat or steam when cooking?

thanks a lot for sharing your stunning taste please where did you get those tiles from ? link please?
Hello. I thought the point of tiles were to keep the area around the sink from generating mould or make a stove-area easier to clean (from the oils and other small stains). Since tiles can be cleaned easier than wallpaper. I didn't see either on the spot you tiled. As far as I can tell, you basicly just turned a flat wall into a squared wall. Not exactly my kind of thing. But if you think it's pretty, I suppose it's your kitchen after all. If you bought the tiles, it's not my business to tell you how to use them. Neither vintage, nor modern is really my taste, so my opinion may be wrong, but personally I think combining such contrasting vibes doesn't creates a not so calm atmosphere. The stripes and squares and slim parts are pretty much a contrast to the thicker antiques, with their little details. I would find it irritating to have such a space. But tastes are different after all, so if it creates a peaceful atmosphere to you, don't let my words bother you. Maybe your DIYs are sort of like abstract art. Some people love it, others just don't understand it. I'm very much one of the later, as I can't see the point of abstract art. I always thought that art is a way to express yourself, to communicate. But I rarely can see any sort of message in the abstract art. Well, enjoy your kitchen. Not just when cooking, but also when you eat. After all a cafe is visited when you want to eat, right?
