I love everything but the white painted wooden countertops and the door knobs. It would’ve added more character if the wooden countertops were sanded to their original color and varnished with a clear top coat and copper rounds knobs would’ve tied in with the incredible oven hood top

I feel like the timber wasn't the problem, it was the walls. The timber would've looked really cozy with the white walls. I would've at least left the timber benchtops tbh.

copper knobs would have been the perfect touch to really emphasize the hood, as well as a copper tone faucet ! Nonetheless, great reno!!

I would have white washed the brick, added a lighter finish on the countertops, and painted the cabinets a dusty, medium green. Green would look great against that copper hood vent. An old farmhouse sink would look good in there too. The painted white tile looks good.

It's actually depressing that you painted over those STUNNING countertops. And paint as a countertop? No way that will last. You literally just painted. Paint for 10k and an expensive sink.

Sanding it back and revarnishing a lighter colour would have looked so much better. Having so much white in a kitchen would just make it a PITA to clean.

MrsAriann the paint was specifically formulated for this type of application . I think they did an amazing job ...yes it’s just paint , but when you’re on a tight budget , this is a great way to do it

I really do love the 3 birds and their style. However, 10k for a paint job is just not realistic or the best use of a budget. The appliances seem to be the same and the worktop (which food is preped on should not be painted unless you are on $762 budget) ahh this one is a miss, unfortunately. There is just so much you can do with a 10k (even with the cost of labour). That being said the styling was very well done.

I'm going to agree with you on this. Literally everything was painted and that was disappointing for me. I know labor is costly, but to me they should have been able to stretch this budget a bit more. Styling seemed to eat up the budget too when getting new countertops (or refinishing the wood countertops) and a new backsplash would have gone miles for me.

There is $4333 worth of labour, the job would be the difference of $4632. But for DIY purposes budget of 10k could have gone further. I actually did my kitchen in January using this product and it is awesome I did it myself, there is a lot of work that goes into this, days of prep and recoat. But it come out awesome. My splash back was black tiles so I had to do 3 coats and each coat is a 8 hour wait.👏👏👏👏😊

L M add copper taps instead of gold, or maybe add copper accents in the light fixtures or decorative pieces like some bowls. The main thing that seemed a little strange was that they went with gold instead of copper because that would’ve been an easy swap

What a stunning transition! Absolutely beautiful kitchen and you took it from a little dim and very dated to a big, bright, beautiful space anyone would be proud to cook and host in! Lovely job as always! Paint is truly the least expensive, most impressive change you can make on a budget and the most modern formulations make painting things that would have been an impossible mess just ten years ago, completely DIY friendly and DURABLE!! I love that!

The knobs are still outdated and now the countertops look outdated. They were beautiful in the original wood tone. This is a case of too much of the same thing . The Natural wood tops would have set off the entire look of the kitchen . I could have done this on $2k budget.

Everyone is complaining about how the paint job is so expensive but tbh I think its totally realistic and worth it. If they would have bought new kitchen cabins this reno would have been waaaay over the budget. Also look how fantastic modern-boho-farmhouse style this kitchen turned out? This is basically my dream kitchen! I understand some people love the timber countertops, I personally don't. I would have done the exact same in this space. But I would have liked to add a little bit of accent with a boho rug and decor just to warm it up a little bit more but that's my personal taste. Amazing video Ladies! ♡ greetings from Germany

The result is great and fits the 3birds style. But for around 9000 Dollars you could buy a new kitchen. At least in Germany. And I understand, that this is a promotional video for dulux, but no one who has 9000 dollars at hand would use that money to let someone paint the kitchen. I would either buy a new one, paint it myself or just change the fronts and buy new appliances. I also understand that labor is cost intensive, but I don't understand the clientele, for whom this video is marketed. I really love the tone on tone look (except the painted worktop, that cheapens it, in my opinion) but this vid is a little unrealistic.

A kitchen of this size with such quality as in the real ALL timber doors and quality cabinetry would be more than $9 thousand here. By not ripping out a kitchen to replace means you don't disturb and damage the surrounds such as splash backs, walls and floor. This ultimately saves more money. This video shows a fabulous way of recycling a kitchen and not creating more landfill! And if you wanted you could save even more money by doing even more of the painting yourself.

I undestand this Recycling process is a good thing for the environment and if I had a real wood kitchen, that I bought for a lot o money and just wanted to freshen up, I would have also painted it. Maybe it's just the cost of the paint, which you could get a little cheaper (I know, the cooperation) or maybe don't buy a sink for over 1000 dollars? And the worktop is real wood if I understand correctly. Leaving that would have tyed in the copper of the range hood. It's just my opinion, but I am not very satisfied with the video. But that doesn't mean, that I hate this kitchen. Maybe I just have seen projects with a better financial management.

Would love to see this video revised in 6 months to a year. I'm sure the painted benchtop won't hold up. It will get scuffed far too often. As others have said, practicality thrown to the way side simply for advertising purposes. How will they explain this when DIYers or first time renovators do the same and it turns to a fail?

Sand the wood counter tops down to natural and seal them and add handles to cabinets and knobs to drawers but use a contrasting material or color like a hammered bronze ugh missed the opportunity with the hardware that’s a huge transformation in its self and this was still granny’s kitchen when they were done
