Hi Sophia. Seeing you organize underneath your sink brought back memories of my own destructive leak. I’ve remodeled my kitchen since and I placed a low sides clear container almost the size of the cabinet under the pipes and disposal, I placed all my cleaners inside the plastic tub and this proved to be a life saver about a year ago when my disposal lost one of its seals and started leaking. Thankfully it was a slow leak and all the water went into the tub. I realized I had a problem when I reached for a cleaning product and found everything floating in the water. But my cabinet was safe. I highly recommend everyone to use this method. It does not interfere with anything and it’s an extra protection.

I think reorganized kitchen cabinets/drawers all at one time is overwhelming, what I do is after I clean the kitchen in the evening I choose one drawer or one shelf in a cabinet and I empty it, wipe it out, make any decisions about what to keep or toss, and then I reload the drawer or shelf. It takes less than 15 minutes, I just do one space every night until I rotate through the entire kitchen and pantry.

You really do tackle things easier now than back before you did your 30 bags in 30 days. I’m not sure how long I’ve been following you, but I remember you used to get overwhelmed more easily. I love how you’ve transformed and can just take on a task like it’s nothing!

I used to use contact paper to line drawers and in the cabinet under the sink. It didn't stick very well for me and would tear over time. I found that plastic placemats work great in drawers as a liner and are easy to clean. Peel and stick tile works great under the sink in the kitchen and bathroom. It sticks really well, is durable, and easy to clean.

SOFIA THE PROBLEM IS THAT BASKET IS TOO DEEP SO YOU CANT SEE THE PRODUCTS. i SUGGEST TO GET A COUPLE OF PLASTIC BASKET A LITTLE BIGGER BUT SHALLOW SO YOU CAN SE WHAT YOU HAVE INSIDE. YOU CAN HAVE ONE FOR YOUR REGULAR CLEANING PRODUCTS AND THE OTHER ONE FOR SPECIALTY PRODUCTS LIKE CARPET CLEANER :) GOOD LUCK. NOW FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO ORGANIZE MY STUFF TOO. LOL

Getting me motivated to do under the sink! Dreaded job. May I suggest you use cheap peel and stick floor tiles to line your cabinets? It takes a while to do all the cabinets but so easy to wipe out and things slide in more easily. I also use Dollar store dishpans to store items which help with with leaks and spills. Easy to pull out and wash! Keep up the great videos!

Suggestion for under sink storage: get 1 or 2 turntable/lazy susans for products [duplicates/backups can be stored in basement pantry] and skip the baskets, or at least limit them to a small basket on the side for things like small scrub pads; dish cloths/cloths can go in the same drawer with drying towels, hand towels, etc. Personally I dislike any baskets that cannot be washed in a sink with hot water and dish liquid, and never store in wicker or fabric baskets any items that can leak, get moldy, deteriorates, or otherwise makes a mess over time.

Love your videos. It looks much better! The contact paper looks great! I think you could double your space in the cabinets by getting a few organizing products. I would love to see shelf organizers in all the cabinets. They are organizers that give you an extra shelf. Get them for every cabinet and also for under the sink. You are only using half of every cabinet. A vitamin organizer would save time. For under the sink, an over the cabinet door paper towel holder, an over the cabinet door organizer to hold your windex and spray bottles and a stainless steel plastic bag organizer. Get a plastic food container with a lid or glass jar to store your dishwasher pods. Eliminating the packaging will look neater plus you can see what you have. Plus extra shelf organizers in there to double the space. For under the sink, move all of your carpet cleaners, paper towels and things you use less often (along with back ups) to one space that is not prime real estate. (I keep all back up and less used items in my laundry room cabinet.) I'd remove the basket under the sink. You are correct, it's too big. Just a simple plastic bin that you can pull out easier would work better. For the cabinets, decide which area is your prep zone. Then store all of the measuring spoons, measuring cups, mixing bowls, etc. together in that cabinet with your knives in a drawer below. Your food scale can go on an organizing rack in the prep cabinet. For your cabinet directly to the left of your sink, I would re-purpose that cabinet and store all if the sponges and the things in the basket near the sink to that cabinet. It clears up your sink space (assuming they are back up sponges not wet ones.) And finally, sometimes it's easier to take a hand vac and vacuum out the drawers. Hope thus helps. Sorry to be bossy, I just love organizing!

I love watching your videos you always inspire me. I also work in the mental health field (I have Master's Degree) and although I'm a little older than you I feel a lot of commonality between us and the way we think about things. I find watching you to be very relaxing and inspiring. You are decluttering your home in the same way I have. I declutter more every year that I bring in. But I don't declutter just to remove everything possible for my home. I remove what I'm not using and what I don't like anymore. I live in a very small one bedroom apartment now but when I started, I lived alone in a three-bedroom rented home with a basement. I have moved a lot since I first started watching your videos and I always have a huge purges when I move. Now that I'm in this apartment I do a major declutter the weekend of memorial day and the weekend of labor day. in the meantime I have a small storage closet and I will book things that I'm going to declutter in purgatory there. I rarely go back and get them again. You are doing an amazing job of getting your kitchen to where it works for you and your lifestyle and your family.
@ashleymckee11406 жыл бұрын
I've always kept steak knives in the silverware drawer since you dont cook with them. That way everything you use when you set the table is together. For the cabinet with your storage containers, perhaps consider putting in pull-outs like you have in your pantry. They have great tutorials for how to do it here on KZbin. It would be a lot easier and save you reaching and digging. It's so interesting to see how other people organize. Good work! Thanks for the video.

I love your videos and I have been doing the same thing all week, my cabinets were not very bad but not good either. A few months ago I bought a metal under the sink adjustable shelves at Amazon. They are wonderful because they are made to fit around the under sink pipes. It gave me three levels and after I decluttered it looks very neat at all times. I also got one that has two drawers that I put an extra roll of paper towels and sponges and dishwasher items.

I do the same thing as you. I kept thinking those big jugs of carpet cleaners and all the polishes she only uses maybe once a month should go in that wonderful basement utility room with the empty shelves. If she puts it into a tote bucket , she can just bring the whole tote upstairs to she use it, then return it to the basement until she uses it again. Would free up a ton of space under the sink.

Have you considered storing the stands for the casseroles you like on them why only use when you have company if you love them use them they probably won't take up much more space with the frames on them than they do without them. Plus you have the bonus that they will keep hot dishes off the table reducing the risk of heat mark damage when you have hot food in the dishes
