Last year for Christmas, I made tons of towels for presents, lots of these plus some using pot holders to hang on cupboard knobs or on oven handles. On some, because of the printing, I had to gather the towels. The trick I came up with was zigzagging over a piece of cotton dish cloth yarn.
@MariesScrappyCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a great idea about zigzagging over cotton yarn. I've tried that a few times and it really makes it quicker, doesn't it?
@teresarathurn8242 жыл бұрын
I make mine pretty much the same way, except I was gathering my towels. The folding does seem easier and looks a bit neater. I made some for a craft show in October and nearly sold out. Made more for another craft show a few weeks ago and nearly sold out then. People love these! And they will make great gifts!

Marie, excellent tutorial, thank you for making it for us. How do you find they come out after the user washes it_. Is there better towels and worse towels as far as shrinking and warping and wrinkling goes_
@MariesScrappyCreations Жыл бұрын
Hi Kim! That's a very good question. I try to stay away from the towels from Dollar Tree and stores such as that. The big department stores such as Walmart, Target, etc, sell good quality towels for a reasonable price, in my opinion. They're less likely to shrink or warp out of shape. I hope this helps!
@donnarichey1442 жыл бұрын
You make it look so easy Marie. I spray my fabric to keep it nice and crisp. Could I use fat quarters for it since don't think I have colored fabric. You make it look easy. Thank you I am one that had mentioned this a while back. I like the color towel you used. When you were pressing the long piece you said crisp was the word of the day and near the end you said towel was the word of the day. I am confused.
@MariesScrappyCreations2 жыл бұрын
I guess I didn't realize that I did that with the word of the day... sorry about that. Either way will make it into the drawing. I will have to go back and listen to myself, haha. I'm glad you liked the way I did this and thanks for your idea!

How do you keep your pins from falling out of that wristlet. I feel like I would have pins flying everywhere. Love that chicken fabric.
@MariesScrappyCreations2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dorris! First, I'd like to say that I love the spelling of your name! Secondly, the pins stay right in place perfectly. The only time they fall out is when I happen to bump the pincushion against something, such as the sewing table or something. A few might fall out that way, but otherwise, they stay right in place. Quite a few of my subscribers have made these and I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with that, either. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment and I hope you have a wonderful week! P.S. You might want to give this project a try, it's a very handy thing to have.
