There is a sliding grinder setting above the brew group behind the panel. They probably moved it there because of the removable bean hopper. Hopefully that should be able to give you a stronger cup of coffee. The next model up kf8 has two stronger coffee settings you can select without touching grinder settings.
@ComputerStuff3 ай бұрын
Thanks. Going to give the KF8 a try next!

@@ComputerStuff One last comment…..I purchased the Kf7 yesterday and was worried after watching your review, because I love strong espresso as well. It took this machine about 12 drinks to settle in on the bean I was using to get the strength and flavor I’m looking for. Settings are…3 bean strength, body…strong….grinder setting to fine. I purchased the Kitchenaid Kf7 and the Jura S8 to see which one I will keep. Kitchenaid is winning because of the extra expense Jura requires to keep it clean which is very costly. Taste and strength are almost even with a slight edge to Jura on flavor.
@ComputerStuff3 ай бұрын
@@nicholasgeorge2424 I definitely went beyond the break in period on mine. Still couldn't get the strength dialed in despite having settings like yours and grinder set up. Agree'd on the KF series vs the Jura. This is a superior machine in almost every way (other than coffee?) lol. Jura's are too complicated, fragmented, and need unnecessary maintenance.
@dougheiser8187Ай бұрын
I’m very surprised you struggled to pull a strong drink, I can’t go above the level three strength. And as you have seen others comment the grind adjuster is behind the panel

I own a KF8, which is the same brew unit and don't struggle to get good espresso. You can adjust grind size, dose, and temperature.
@LRU_DOC27 күн бұрын
Also, if you were drinking the "coffee" it's pretty much an Americano, not drip coffee. I wish they would have left that off the menu.
@jamcofec27 күн бұрын
I wonder if that KF8 is the same "puck" size? I imagine you can dose it up to two serves of coffee anyway. Was interesting that in this review it says it's a 1oz puck size whereas similar JURA models are 2oz... JURA is also a lot more expensive
@LRU_DOC26 күн бұрын
@@jamcofec 15g is the largest commonly agreed upon dose size for the KF series, I do not think they lost it anywhere officially. The KF series all use the same brew group so they will all be the same apart from more recipes and the ability to do non dairy milk. It is common for a double shot of espresso to have a 14-20ish gram dose size. If you are unfamiliar with the term dose, it is the weight of ground coffee that goes into a shot of espresso.
@ComputerStuff26 күн бұрын
Jura does have a bigger puck size in some of their models. If someone can weigh in on if the KF8 has bigger puck I'd like to know as well.

Yes. This is not the only machine that mislabels drip for americano however. Delonghi is guilt as well and I believe Philips too.

I have a KF8 and was able to improve the coffee by changing the grind size. I dont know if you have the option to do this on the KF7, but it was just a small slider above the handle on the brew unit.

Im glad another big company jumped in. I think it will increase competition and make super autos better or cheaper in the long run. I started my super auto journey by sacrificing 2 pounds of beans to season the burrs. Cheap beans but still it hurt. But yeah get some nice fresh beans youll be ok.

Any freshly roasted beans are going to work. Personal taste is another matter. But I've not ever heard of having to buy a specific bean for a specific machine. If there isn't a grind selector then this is just a dust collector or maybe large door stop.

Its ashame, that a machine that seems to have all the right features you'd want in a multi-automatic coffee maker does not make good coffee. Out of all the machines you have tested that make all the different variant of coffees, which would you say has had the best tasting coffee?
