If the freezer on the left side is icing up on the coils, will this help defrost? The defrost thermostat and heater are testing good

@daftgaming5438 if defrost bimetal and heater is good, then most probably the board is bad. Depending on the unit, you may have few boards. It's good to find the wire diagram to check which one is responsible for the defrost. Some Kitchenaid refrigerators are inverter and some relay units.

@ArturKruglov if there are no obstructions in the door, I would recommend to check the door sensor or switch.

hi my side by side whirlpool evaporator fan makes two clicks but doesn’t spin also evaporator has too much ice but heater is and temp thermostat is good

@FestusMuberuka check if the fan receives power. If so and it doesn't spin, replace it. You will have ice gathering on evaporator without proper ventilation. Also, check and clean the drain line.

@ thank you for the quick response i replaced the fan and it does the same thing it makes two quick turns every 3 seconds also the middle is very hot and condenser is not that dirty

@FestusMuberuka Compressor and condencer fan is running? check the power to fan and door switch. If the power is not consistent, could be the board.

thank you both fans would run and stop at the same time and keep cycling like that compressor was very hot too i replaced the capacitor and now it’s working capacitor was measuring 187uF instead of the 220 rated. can you explain what the relays functions from the top K5,K4 etc thank you

@FestusMuberuka best way would be to find a wire diagram or wire scheme for exact model. We replace 4 relays and capacitor when the inverter board don't receive power and/or compressor starts/stops constantly. The 5th relay on the other side of the board is for the defrost. When we rebuild PCB, we simply replace ALL relays and a capacitor. But, you'll need a specific wire diagram to know exactly and to trace each element on the board. If compressor is running now and both fans are running, then you should be good. Check in about a week to see if there is no ice building on evaporator. If so, you ll need to check the defrost system and/or replace all the relays on the board.
