I keep saying it, since so many don’t seems to understand. The rarity identifiers DO NOT say how many times they show up in boosters… it denotes the number you may place into a deck. That is it. Other games, including MTG, use terms like R1, R2, etc, or U1, U2, etc. to denote the number of times a rare or uncommon show up on a sheet of cards before it is cut in the factory. The “Elite” Sir Uniques are R2s or R3s, and simply show up on the sheet more often. If they are Uniques on an elite card sheet, they can be Unique2’s or Unique3’s (U3), just printed on a sheet with elites. I say this because there are times when even MTG had commons at C1 on the print sheet that were as rare as some uncommon and I think even as rare as some R2s at some point

Very good point, was about to comment about the C1 Maze of it (the dark) at C1 rarity and was at best 3 per box, most of the time less

I've seen many vidoes pop up about opening and speculating about sorcery in my feed. So far zero have popped up about gameplay. I've getting the strong impression sorcery is not for playing but more for collecting, which is fine if that's what people like.

My 1st box I got from my LGS was opening it with my wife she goes, "What's this card?" Holds up a Queen Guinevere Curio...I about had a stroke. I told her just double sleeve that now...We got a 2nd just to snag some more of the set. That was an Awesome experience.

I think what bugs me is that I'm getting multiples of these Sirs that I only need 1 of because they're Unique for deck construction.

Just look at it as extras copies for more decks. Unfortunately most will still end up as bulk trash but that's not much difference from other unused elites/uniques.

I am totally cool with the Sirs all being unique for deck building purposes, but some elite for how often they show up in packs. Makes total sense to me. I also had a hunch when we saw the Weightless Squire curio that it was kind of a strange choice for a curio and that the other squires might have curios as well. If I am not incorrect curios have now been found for three of the four squires. So everyone, pay close attention to all of your squires!

the set looks great, i haven’t gotten a chance to play with it yet but nearly every card i opened from my 3 boxes i was like “damn that seems powerful” i am pretty excited to get games in. that being said, i really do feel the box opening doesn’t feel as fun as alpha/beta. specifically because of the uniques. in the first set, you open a unique and you know you pulled something good and it’s exciting. i feel like pulling a unique in AL just doesn’t feel as good because unless you know the entire list off the top of your head you don’t actually know if you pulled something rare or not.

Was surprised to see Seb's art in Sorcery considering the reasons WotC dropped him. I like the art separate from the person's behavior/actions and imagine his style would work well with some of the future sets mentioned like Angels/Demons/Monsters and such. Shall see how things go I suppose.

Sorcery team definitely seems to not care and lean into it a bit. We got Jihad and Crusade in A/B. They're definitely courting the audience who feels MTG and WOTC are too severe in their attempts at political correctness. I wouldn't be surprised to see Terese Neilson and Noah Bradley at some point. I do feel they intentionally obfuscated Seb being involved by them making a big deal about his brother. Idk. It's a bit grimy.

@@veilight4444 iirc, near the middle of the pandemic he was rather vocal about his preferences, which is of course up to oneself, but there was public affiliation with some, shall we say, less than tolerant groups during protest periods. after that and the dissatisfaction of that type of behavior, WotC had seemingly chose to no longer include him in their catalog of artists. Don't quote me on that as I do not quite know all the specifics but that is what I recall and seems to be what is floating around in the realm of the interwebs.

Making the extra unique cards in this set is beautiful. The key element is how many can be put in a deck. Now add the extra 10 cards that can be added to existing decks. Sorcery keeps hitting home runs

Out of 3 boxes I pulled 3x copies of the same 6 elite/uniques and another 3 with 2x copies. That doesn't feel too good. Other than that I think the set is amazing. The art is magnificent.

The real conversation should be: Is this going to bring new players and collectors to the game? Louie can gush all over the "art," but any game, especially a tcg, should grow in players and collectors to be successful and the health of longevity of the product.

If boxes dip below $100 at any point, I'll probably buy in for a case or two. That being said, I'm worried about over-saturation with a potentially large second wave coming. Love the art, love the game, but I'm afraid collectability will turn FABish (i.e. high level rarities only). We shall see! In 96' I would have never said MtG A/B/U would have risen to the prices they are today.

Good luck on waiting for it to go below $100. Distribution is keeping an eye on stores that sell below 10% MSRP, so you might not find many willing to dump their supply especially right after release.

For me, I would have preferred either a Knight slot, or for them to just replace a common with a knight some percent of the time. In a much smaller set it's painful to have the true uniques be just as hard to pull as Alpha/Beta. I'm flooded with commons, exceptionals, and knights, but I'm missing a ton of other Elites and Uniques after my case. It's frustrating. Otherwise the set is great and I'm a big fan.

@@Dstinct I'm not sure what this guys problem with CFH is but I gotta give him some due credit. Hes one of the most reputable singles sellers for this game. I'm in his Discord and he made completing my Beta Foil Set much easier. I will say, its better to order from him through discord/private transactions than to use his TCGPlayer or Ebay, but great seller!

Completely disagree on the box opening experience compared to alpha as a whole. There will never be a game or set that compares to opening an alpha box of sorcery.
