Thanks for the comment. I was the one in the air, what a rush!

As he drops, he moves forward,( same principal as running with the kite when there is no wind) thus keeping the cells inflated, cells stay inflated while coming down ......= DOES NOT DIE!! IF IT'S NOT DANGEROUS, IT'S NOT FUN. Ps, I'm the one in the air!
@trumpatier9 жыл бұрын
He's attached to a rope. This is no kite jump, just being lifted up like so many other "jump" videos. You might as well just call it parasailing.
@trumpatier9 жыл бұрын
Not only that, but he has two friends running along the beach pulling the rope that he is attached to, in order to get him airborn. This is fake. Not fake in the fact that he is in the air, but it's a fake jump with fake wind and no high danger.

cool and not fake, it's just balls for making the kite do that, I've been lifted up about 8m once and I tried to take it down at that height but i found out later I shouldn't... just do like this guy did and wait for getting down!

Its also the worst idea you could have with a kite...besides attempting to use it as a parachute while jumping out of a plane
@KevinKaya15 жыл бұрын
This IS NOT a parachute, this is a FOIL KITE, foil kite requires WIND to keep the cells INFLATED without wind the cells will deflate which basically means that he is holding on to a piece of flacid material. Yes, whilst he goes down the cells will probably inflate slightly, but not enough! And yes the chances of the wind dropping to nothing is not huge, but there is still a possibility and at that height its pretty dangerous.
@rick92814 жыл бұрын
@4leafmetal If your setup is brand new then you will need to 'run it in' in other words, the new lines will strech a bit and you will need to find the right setup for the best flying. We used a 10.5m kite for this and I had a 80m rope attached to the back of me while 2 mates ran down the beach pulling me (you can see them at the beginning of the video) being pulled is how we managed to get such height. Some people frown on this but we don't care. HAVE FUN!
@ZennerBear14 жыл бұрын
@bazzabug this is not fake, their's a rope attached to the dude, that's why he managed to stay up in the air for so long.
@1empyre1life16 жыл бұрын
Pretty insane. I was confused at how you were doing that until I noticed the tether. Props either way.
@rick92816 жыл бұрын
There is no minimum or max. It depends on how big the kite is (and what sort) and how strong the wind is too. Most 'kiters' will have at least 3 different kites. Our kites range from 3m to 17m. But you are right, we are nuts! We do a dangerous sport and then manage to find a way of making it more dangerous lol
@rick92815 жыл бұрын
The kite is a 10.5m blade. We get great height by having a 80m rope attached to the 'kiter' and then have 2 people pull him as fast as possible when he makes a jump. Same principal as para gliding.
@mskeezer15 жыл бұрын
hey did not no that was you guys brighton extreeam is one of the best vids on u tube and to be honest the reason i baught my blade 1v 4.9 around 2 years ago is after gettin blown away by your vid. just starting to kitesurf now keep it up guys
@rick92813 жыл бұрын
@thetenzintsung If you mean the rope pulling me, nothing. That rope is used to pull me against the wind so to gain great height, if it was to snap you just 'glide' back down to earth (so long as you keep banking the kite left to right etc)
@DrMurdercock2 жыл бұрын
I have had dreams of this happening to me my entire life. I jump, thinking I will only jump like a foot, but then i just keep going up like im being pulled by a kite, then I fall slowly back and always wake up before I hit. Weird shit to see this. You're insane man lol Looks funt hough

I use to have the same dream when I was younger.. then I started lucid dreaming and now all I do is fly. If I'm having a scary dream I just fly so nobody can get me. It's crazy cuz in real life I'm afraid of heights but when I'm dreaming I love it cuz I know I can't die
@rick92815 жыл бұрын
If you look carefully at the beginning you can see my 2 mates pulling me, hence the 'string' on my back! Its the same principal as para gliding. What would be the point in making a fake?
@JesHill15 жыл бұрын
A seriously bad idea. Parascending foils intended for man lifting are built to paragliding/aircraft standards. Powerkites are not. As noble as this guy might feel it's asking for serious injury and it's frowned upon by all competent powerkiters. The difference is in the tethering, kites will lift, but the load is maxed out as the kite and load is free to move together, when tethered it sees far higher loadings for which they're not intended. Bridle, line, and harness failures have occurred.

Why is bungie jumping called "jumping" if there's something tied to the participant? Anyways, if the rope were connected to a helicopter which was pulling him upwards, then it wouldn't be a real jump. But this situation is the opposite since the rope is keeping him from ascending too far.

Granted, I have seen a fake kiting video where a kite gets caught on a plane wing as it comes in to land. ok this might sound like a stupid question but i have a 4 slingshot and im lookin for alot more power. i wanna jump ad high and long as possible. now would a pansh ace 8m or 12m be better for kit jumping? obviously the 12m has more power but im wondering if the speed differences in the kites would make a difference in that you need the perfect balance of speed and power. which one should i get for the biggest jumps?
@thodystack10 жыл бұрын
If you are tethered to something or some one, you have to make sure all the lines are capable of taking all the strain put on them. It can be pretty safe if you do a bit of maths before attempting it. Thinking about learning by your mistakes when dealing with that power is potentially a fatal error.

@explodingthunder why so the kite drops along with you and you snap your legs? never panic when kiting stay calm and thing logically
@rick92816 жыл бұрын
I was hooked on my spreader bar yes but I was holding on in a way that if the rope snapped suddenly (rope between the handles) I wouldn't lose grip. In other words, I was holding those handles bloody tight! On another note, teathered flying (with someone holding the rope the other end) is very safe, I control lift etc but so does the person on the ground .....bit like flying 2 kites at once. Always soft landings!
@rick92814 жыл бұрын
@rcfreak2493 Without question, the 12m! The bigger the kite the more lift but it will also act like a paracute on the way down. In other words, you come down slower (and softer!) Re-directing the kite all the time gives you the best lift and softer landings. Again, using a bigger kite means that re-directing is slower giving you more time to think and best of all ....more time to enjoy the 'flight' I was towed on this video(10m Blade) but I get huge jumps on my own (with the right wind)
@rick92815 жыл бұрын
You have a strong chord/rope about 2' long that is attached each end to each handle and you simply hook it into your spreader bar. Some people like to use a pully wheel on the spreader bar but I find it easier to use without.

If there was no wind, why would you need to rotate it 180deg? You would just come down (not like a stone) in the direction the kite was facing! That said, it's dead simple to rotate even a large kite (fast) 180 deg!
