Kite's death is one of the point that makes this arc a masterpiece. What better way to shock and prove us the threat is real than killing Ging's apprentice, one of the strongest Nen users we've met since the beginning of the show ? The scene where Pitou jumps on them is one of my fave, its so chilling.

Killua and Gon have not yet really met nen users on the level of the top hunters except for Netero, and even then Netero have yet to show them his Nen. Killua's family might've count but killua haven't really seen them using Nen his whole life at this point of the arc since he was unable to detect/see nen auras prior. To THEM, Kite is one of the strongest nen user they have encountered.

The anime did the audience dirty by showing death flags, in the manga we did not have any death flag for Kite. The conversation with Kite giving Gon Ging's license is an anime only. In the manga Kite gave Gon the licence since chapter 1. 😂😂 The shocks of anime watchers is nothing compare to the pain of manga readers. We never knew who Togashi will sacrifice. 😊

It's been shown that being hit by a nen attack forces the nodes open and awakens your ability to see and control nen, at a risk of disfigurement or your life

Trust me Don I know them feels, Kite was not just a master but a friend and the apprentice to Gons dad, then you see him not just hurt but with his head torn off! It was too much to see in one episode but it just showed the absolute strength the royal guard has!

Pitou sensed Kite from around 2 kilometers away. That means her En has a radius of around 2 km. Kite can only handle 45/50m, hell even Zeno Zoldyck's En who's an absolute monster (he said he can handle 300m with his En, 6 times greater radius than a master and 36 times the surface) has a ridiculously small En compared to Neferpitou who was just born 2 hours ago. And yes she just crossed those two kilometers in a single jump in a matter of second. Her jumping speed is probably almost breaking the sound barrier at this point. The fact that Pitou even had scratches is a testament to how good Kite is.

Fun fact: in the manga, Kite was originally supposed to appear the very first episode and he talks with Gon after saving him from a bear. He inspires Gon pretty much to take the test in the first place, but for whatever reason the scene was removed in the 2011 anime. That's why I don't think the anime did his character justice by removing that part and instead just showing it as a brief flashback. It would have made his death much more impactful since he was basically there from the very beginning.

Masters of nen can use en up to 50 meters and he KEPT IT UP ALL NIGHT. a hunter with a star rating on his name... A hunter so strong he was probably around as powerful as chrollo or hisoka... Wow.. He not only lost, but got decapitated! What a legendary shock, a tragic and shocking end of an episode. ESPECIALLY AFTER gon was giving the light to killua. Being so positive that killua got blindsided... Being so positive gon probably blindsided HIMSELF. insane. I love your reaction. I love how you keep your attention on little things most people miss until they rewatch the show. I love how say things that end up happening, you don't exactly predict because that wouldn't be your intentions, but you do kinda say something that ACTUALLY happens later!!! There is a kinda accepted Theory in the community that Kite, in a way, cheats the number of Crazy Slots. You remember how a Condition may increase the strenght of a ability, no ? Rather than Kite choosing the number he lets the Crazy Slots Clown to choose, so it isnt up to him to decide upon. However, what if Kite comments on "Bad Spin" is actually aimed for Crazy Slot Clown, which has its own personality, to then try and give a better number, and just constantly try to adapt to the situation giving a more "useful" number

While she looked somewhat ambiguous in her intro, overtime Pitou grew completely feminine in design. Even HxH manga's official translator agrees she is female.

I mean Morel was talking more shit, and in general terms he's correct, you can't really assume the way the battle will go based on the amount of aura displayed, because the nen abilities you develop might make all the difference. For example Uvo had a much stronger aura than Kurapika but he lost cause he couldn't do shit about the Chains that force you into Zetsu. So they are mostly right, the problem here is that the Royal guards are just off the scale in both aura capacity and physical prowess.
