You are the Only Presenter that acknowledged the possibility that Kitec could have been installed Past 2007. Thanks for having that insight. Dealing with a 2009 build at the moment.

Kitec was introduced in 1995

I installed Kitec in my house 22 years ago with no issues. No corrosion on any fittings and zero leaks. I heard that less than 1 percent have had issues with this product. Back in the day Taiwan made some batches of fittings with too much zinc in the brass. Zinc replaced lead in all household lead free brass fittings. My water pressure stellar, better than most homes I have visit. I have no plans on replacing my Kitec in the near future. My 5 year and 11 month old water heater just just broke at the inlet threads writing it off and flooding the basement. Luckily one month before the warranty expired. My last one lasted 18 years. Nothing to do with the Kitec, but hot water is really nice especially when you don't have it. 😁

I believe the fittings where made in India and they used cheaper material when making these fittings, sometimes it looks good from the outside but, as you can see on KZbin the fittings can just snap. I had my plumbing replaced and I wonder if some people just got lucky and had the original fittings used before they where sourced out to other manufacturers to save a few cents.

I bought a house recently, it was built in 2008, it's with Plumbbetter also known as Kitec. The seller did not disclose it to me, should I file a case against Seller?

Yes you can speak to a real estate lawyer and if the selller potentially knew about the plumbing you van sue for damages. Best of luck my friend!

@@pawarmonica13 There was a class action suit settled for $125 Million. Closed in 2020. Hope that would not be a precedent that thwarts your attempt. Were dealing with a 2009 build that needs a KITEC replacement at Owners expense.
