Love the channel and every video is very informative. I really don’t understand the high hanger costs mentioned since my closed hangar with automated Bi-Fold door only costs me $100 (given I live in the countryside in Midwest). Would be a good to know where you are getting the hangar costs and what type of hangers are these. Not to be negative but these high costs if not accurate can turn a lot of new owners away from the wonderful community of GA. Great channel, keep up the good work sir.

Kitfox’s are great, but I bought the now ex-wife a 2013 Aerotrek A220 and then bought myself a 2021 Aerotrek A220. It is a factory-built SLSA modeled after the Avid Flyer (the predecessor to the Kitfox). It’s made in the Czech Republic and imported by Aerotrek. It weighs 673# empty, takes off and lands in 250’ to 300’ (with the full 21 gallons of fuel and 190# pilot), has a top speed of 123-125 MPH. The stick moves control rods like the Kitfox. This gives it a quick/precise feel like a Van’s RV. Gross weight is 1225, so Useful Load is 552. 21 gallons of 91 unleaded weighs 126, so I have 426# left for people and stuff. I’m 190# with my boots, wallet, headset and Ipad, so I can carry 226 additional pounds. The girlfriend is 135, purse-included and I think the max baggage is either 50 or 60 pounds, so all-in, we’re 31# under gross. Note- Many Carbon Cub owner’s convert their SLSA’s that have a gross weight of 1320# into Experimental’s, then fly them at a higher weight and note in the logbook that it handled well on takeoff, landing and in various flight conditions. My understanding is that this increases the legal Useful Load. I was told by a FSDO that I could do this to a SuperSTOL that I had a few years ago-but please do your own research. I did add spoilers to the SuperSTOLL wings and made such a logbook entry. IIRC, I was limited to about a 25 mile radius for the first 5 hours. At one time I had a 180 HP 1993 Cubcrafter’s SuperCub, a 2014 100HP SuperSTOL, the Ex’s 2013 100HP Aerotrek, and an awesome 2014 Van’s RV7. I flew the Aerotrek more often than all of the others combined. My record was 11 days in a row. My ex went from zero experience and not even liking planes, to solo in her A220 in 21 hours! I am in no way affiliated with Aerotrek, but I have had a wonderful experience with mine and with Rob Rollison, the owner of Aerotrek and with his mechanic James. I think a brand-new factory-built, certified A220 tail-wheeler or A240 nose-dragger is about $120,000 and takes about 9 months to get. There is a used A240 trike on Barnstormer’s today for $129,000. aerotrek.aero

Another fun review. But let's not pretend "car gas" is much better than aviation gas; in fact, it's probably LESS available because it doesn't mean REAL car gas AKA gasohol... which is the only thing you can buy anywhere I've driven for the last couple of decades (or more). GA is going to die unless the industry pulls its head out of its ass and makes engines that run on actual pump gas, or the U.S. government pulls its head out of its ass and stops subsidizing the asinine conversion of corn into inferior fuel. And even then... with the rampant corruption that's destroying our airports, and the price of ANY fuel... GA is most likely dead anyway. Sad.

I really think this is an old archaic perspective that needs to change.
