I've really enjoyed watching your build series; thanks for taking the time to document your build in such great detail. I definitely learned some things I can use on my own project. You're probably aware, but DUC also has an electric/hydraulic hybrid constant speed prop. But if, as you said, you're not in love with the appearance of the skinny DUC blades, then I guess the Airmaster or MT are the way to go. DUC also offer a fully hydraulic model that uses the Jihostroj governor from the Czech Republic, but you have to have the right gearbox on your engine to use it.

I also look forward to the flying video's and thanks for fully posting the whole build process. I have a Kitfox Sti on order (2 years out). Do you thing Beringer brakes are worth the extra cost? Or is the money better spent else where. Hopefully looking to build similar priced airplane as yours (Fuel injection and nice panel).

I have the Grove brakes and I have never once been in a scenario where more brake power would make a difference. Save the money on brakes to start and get at least a good engine. Not getting a constant speed prop is my biggest regret.

Interesting, those numbers are nowhere close to what’s listed on the website. Thanks you for your series it has been quite helpful in my project

The website give you ideal numbers. I could in theory get better performance in any area but it's a trade off: If I want better climb, I lose top speed or I have to carry less fuel. If I want better top speed, then my takeoff roll is longer. The moral of the story is...get a constant speed prop.

@@7KiloFox Roger, on that note, your stall speeds seem higher than advertised too. I'm sure VGs will make a difference, but I wouldn't think going from low 40s to low 30s would happen just with VGs. Or am I wrong? They list 32 mph on the website. Plane looks great man, congrats.

Stall speed is a function of weight. It may be possible to get stall speeds down that low if I lose 30lbs install, vgs, empty tanks, and kick out passengers. 32kts I could see, but 32mph is far fetched.

Can you tell me, how much paint you approximately you used for the basic paint coat of the fuselage?

I’ve been looking at the Kitfox for a while and was curious what your thoughts were about me fitting comfortably. I’m 6’5 and about 250lbs and I noticed your brother in one of the build vlogs got it and he looked pretty cramped. Not sure how big he is.

Did you put vgs on? If they are on in the video you have them way too far back. We have vgs on both are STI and we lowered stall speed 10mph. I was confused that your stall speed went up with vgs? STI wing loves vgs but you need to put them no more than 2” back.
