One of the best parts of the Cyphers since they were released over a period of time is to see their development through the years as rappers and producers, their beats get better, their flow improves and changes, their lyrics get better. Especially your boy J-Hope's development since he actually started rapping after RM and Suga, once he joined the group, his main role was as Dance Leader since he was an underground dancer before but he's become an amazingly talented and versatile rapper. The music video for "I Need U" (Original Version) is actually the beginning of the storyline that makes up the BTS Universe. You know of the Marvel Universe & the DC Universe, right? Well, BTS has their own storyline that runs through a bunch of their music videos & trailers & their webtoon & books too. No one is playin' the game like they are... NO ONE... period! Once you fall down THAT particular rabbit hole of the BTS Universe, there is really no escape from that. Don't say I didn't warn you! LOL!!! :-p Just sit back & enjoy the ride :-) BTW Cypher Pt. 3 aka Killer is my most fave cypher among the 4. Supreme Boi with the 3 rappers just kills it! Supreme Boi was one of the original members of BTS before they debuted as an idol group. They were supposed to have been a hip-hop group initially, but when that didn't happen, Supreme Boi ended up being one of BTS's producers, so he's pretty legendary, 'cos he's been there even before their debut and he's stayed with them ever since. Supreme Boi was in the original BTS line up before BigHit decided to not do strict hip hop/Rap and become an idol group. Suga and RM were also apart of the original lineup but chose to stay in the group. Supreme Boi is now a producer and writer at BigHit (company that BTS is from). He can be seen on many liner notes as a writer and producer of BTS albums and is still good friends with all the guys.

What you said about mumble rappers is the EXACT reason I fell into kpop. Korea has some good rappers and usually idols are supposedly weak rappers but that is the difference between BTS and many others. RM and Suga were underground rappers and J-Hope was a street dancer that never rapped until he got to BTS. They studied US rappers like Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z etc. Suga and RM have been rapping since they were 11-12yrs old. That's how long they have been writing their own bars and beats. J-Hope was new to the rap game but if you notice he raps like he dances. He finds different beats in the music to change up his flow in one verse because that's how freestyle dancers work. Everyone is mentioning Joke and Do You from RM.
