Absolutely! Outside of the house we live regular lives with regular jobs. Once were home the Dresses, Nightgowns, Silk Pajamas, Slippers, Cocktails, and Jackie Gleason Easy listening music comes out! The world still exists...but inside our home its 1959!

LOVE your home, and the lighting is fabulous! We have a 1937 home, just acquired 5 years ago, and we love it! Most of our items are a tad older than yours, and some the same age. Old iron beds, lamps, furniture, all oak, pine, maple! It takes a long time to find all these treasures, but it is the best fun ever! We collect a few too many great treasures, so we have a couple of flea mkt. booths, for the overflow, which allows us to buy more treasures for our home! Again, LOVE YOUR HOME!

There ought to be societies out there and everything, if there is enough people who think this way. I'm in this camp too, to some degree, as I love things around me and hate modern styles and trends, and thought I was odd. Well, seems like there are many more "odd" people out there, like me then. Very encouraging to see. My Best. Best of 2019. Out.

@ivanj.conway99193 жыл бұрын
@@sheiladyck5863 : Hi Sheila. The Best of 2021 to You Darling. In the middle of a blizzard here, now, on this wintry, early, February, morning. Trying to fight off the winter blues again. This on top of Covid as well. Oh my! Anyway Darling, here's a link to a video of a gentlemen who really, does Vintage Decor right! Everything about his apartment I absolutely, love particularly his huge, apartment, windows and gorgeous view from them. The place is loaded with character and charm and is SOOOO, warm and inviting. All his pieces originate from around, the 40s and 50s there abouts, and I believe he said his apartment complex was built in the 50s with hardly, anything being changed, and it looks outstanding. So, so, SOOOO, much better than today's dead, boring, bland, characterless, look. So hope you enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYKvlaSMl8ppn8k At some point, I'm going to do a video about my place, and some of the interesting pieces I have, but most of my stuff is from later decades. I had someone say recently, that I'm stuck in the 70s, which is true to a point, as I love many things from that decade, but actually, the bulk of the furnishing I have are secondhand, from the 80s actually. But the place itself, gives off a 70s feel, which is why people say that, I guess. But I'm as happy as punch with that, and would not change a thing. Maybe, add a little more colour to the place, but because it's a rental, there really, is not much I can do there, either. At least, the place is not open concept and all white, THANK GOD!!!! The owner is young, and whenever I move out, she may do just, that. Rip all the older character from the place, and attempt to "modernize" it, as she hinted at that when she first, bought the place, but I told her I like it as is and need to keep my walls for privacy and because I have a cat as well, that I need to keep contained. And that's my biggest gripe I think; we've all white and open concepted everything completely, to death for over 20 odd, friggen, years now. Enough is enough I say. Enough with the metallics, and grays, and whites, and minimalism, and big, open, barn like, spaces, and everything being so damn, plain and boxy. Enough already! People keep sticking with this look but there really, is absolutely, nothing new and novel about it, at all, now. People keep sticking with it because it seems they don't have the brains and creativity to move away from it and create something better. Yes, I admit, I'm stuck in the past in a great many ways, as there were many, many, things from decades past that actually, were BETTER, as far as I'm concerned, and music, and clothing styles, and interior design being amoung them, for sure. So I feel like a "fish out of water" like you would not believe, and as "misplaced" as all hell. I'm happy to know that I am at least, not completely, alone. Warmest Wishes from Canada. Best of 2021. Be Well. Be Safe. Out.

Nothing like having some nice, soft, relaxing, music playing in the background. I love that. I have music going, all the time, like that, as well. I honestly, would go mad in a completely, silent room, unless I were meditating or something. You have some wonderful pieces of wood furniture here, but my favourite by far, has to be your lamp collection. My God, where do you find such totally, awesome lamps?! Better by far, than most of the modern stuff you get today. Most, not all now. I saw your other video where you've moved into a larger place. Great to see you have more room to display all your awesome stuff. And thank God for people like yourself, who keep such awesome, older, stuff from ending up in dumps. I think that's super wonderful. My Best. Best of 2019. Out.

Other than paint and new flooring we didn't need to do much. Our decor/collection ranges from the 1930's to no later than the 1970's. Love seeing others with so many of the same pieces, tchotchkes I've collected over the decades as well! That massive "Marie Kondo" movement is so not for people like us... everything I have "sparks joy" wherever my eyes rest. Many friends have expressed the same viewpoint in spite of having different decor tastes. Don't like it? Well, ask yourself, did you come to visit me or my home? My home, my tastes. Don't like it, door is easily recognisable as any door is, show yourself out! Can't wait to see your new home video! 😘⚡️Jet

Rock ‘n’ Roll Glam Queen : Darling, modern designs are the complete shits anyway. At least, what's mainstream. Who the hell, wants to live in a boring, sterile, white/off white, hospital, environment anyway?! As that's exactly, what most modern, white, washed out, colourless, modern, home decor reminds me of. Even though I'm a guy, I'm SOOOO, in this camp as well. Only difference being, they may have a bet much for such a small place. I've seen their updated video of their new place, and it's so much better. I'm crazy over their lamp collection, and they have some utterly, awesome wood furnishings, as well. I have to meet more people in this camp as it would encourage me, as well and seems like an utterly, awesome community to be involved with. Darling, I think I'd absolutely, love your place and checking out all your utterly, awesome stuff. Do you have any vids to share?! Much Love Darling. My Best. Best of 2019. Out.

@fernandoocelso26877 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct in your observation. Each region has its own personality and local manufacturers. For example while in the Mid West almost every thrift shop and antique mall had a piece of Red Wing pottery. Out in southern California...rare to see a piece. But I could count on one hand the amount of times I saw California Pottery company's...Lamps for me are the biggest Wow...I always felt the East Coast had the most Atomic lamps...Majestics etc.

Lovely. Not everything is of the era,but it is all blended with a really great eye. Of course having so many salt and pepper shakers that one has to keep the cups on the counter is a lil silly. I noticed at least one Libby bowl and some glasses, here is a tip, look for Libby caddies, metal with rounded wood on the handles. And if they come with the wrong cups, or no salt shaker in the salad set, do not despair. Somebody at the next flea market will have it! It is not that there were a lot of Libby, just that they stood the test of time. You have to look on this weird spot in tiny print on the carriers, they are amazing. But if you get a carrier and have cups you love or a different salad bowl, make it your own. A trick in this lighting, if you crave real greenery in your life, try African violet! They love it!

Awesome! I picked up the curtains in Kansas in a small town called Salina...they had roughly over 100 pieces of barkcloth between $10-$25 a panel. Insane collection and the vast majority of curtains in the house came from that shop. The Antique mall in no longer in business sadly!
@emilyrodriguez58717 жыл бұрын
On ebay the originals will pop up monthly but they typically fetch $100+ a pair or panel depending on the size. The size I have would probably sell for close to $200. Simply based on colorway ours is the Pink, Aqua, Black, and Gold. variation.
