I was... 5, I think? I sat in my filthy home, where i was abused, beaten, and treated like a dog. I would sleep on the floor like one anyway. They didn't have a bed for me. But I had an original gray brick Gameboy. i would lean against the wall under a window, and play links awakening for hours. I would have to steal batteries from remotes and my sisters toys to keep it going, and when they became weak I learned I could lay them in the giant hole in the air conditioner to make them freezing cold and i could keep using them. The batteries would explode while i was playing though because of that. I had a single light in that darkness, and it made it bearable. But the darkness consumed it all eventually. I will never escape this family, they made sure of it. But at least i can remember those nice moments with my gameboy, and my snes. welp... back to the alcoholism now i guess.
