It's always been my dream, and I'm sure tens of thousands of other guys my age who grew up watching Knight Rider in the 80s, to have driven K.I.T.T. for at least 5 minutes, let alone owned one of the cars! And to have that voice synthesizer of William Daniels voice, and considering my name is already Michael, would have been AWESOME!!

A cowl hood! Love the name! In Britain it's called an air induction hump, & is on the bonnet! My mum bought a 1982 Chevrolet Camari Z28. It had the cowl on the hood, & a ram air. It was built in the March, the design was changed in the June. She want a Pontiac, but there weren't any about at the time. She bought him from Kingston Upon Thames, part exchange for a Nissan Micra. On the way home, she missed the turning we needed, & we ended up bringing him home through London in the rush hour traffic!!! How she did that without incident I shall never know, especially as KITT( that's what we called him!!!) Was a left hand drive!! She went from a 1litre right hand drive to a 5.7 litre left hand drive, & never had a mishap with him! He was candy Apple red with gold decals, & sounded amazing. He was some car!!! Thank you for allowing us all to indulge in the ultimate fantasy of owning KITT!!!

Same. But I WILL spend whatever time it takes to make the scanner lights completely accurate. It bothers me to no end if a "replica" KITT has an inaccurate scanner lights animation due to... I dunno what... Nowadays with fully programmable microcontrollers there's really no excuse at all not to have the sequence absolutely accurate (proper timing, brightness fade, etc).

I own a General Lee replica, a Bullitt, a 78 Smokey Trans Am and a few other cars. We are part of Smokey and The Bandit Live and we're at Pontiacs at Pigeon Forge and saw two KITTS there. Beautiful cars. I hope to build one soon. Looking for a car now.

I like how people say that there are two KITTs, when there are actually three: behind the first KITT there is the same Chevy model (if I'm not mistaken) used in Knight Rider 2000. I know this movie/TV pilot usually isn't taken into account, but it was one of the last Edward Mulhare roles.
