YES...I was thinking the same thing. Once she got over her initial fright, Polly was unusually friendly and sweet...plus looking very healthy. I wonder if she got lost from her hoomans. She has obviously been socialize around people before. So sad that someone would abandon such an adorable little girl...but at least she was near a feral colony that is frequented by volunteers who feed them.

I've met feral cats who are quite friendly. But clearly she is too healthy to have been out on her own for too long. She looks well fed, and a kitten that young cannot hunt on its own. She was definitely from someone's home. If she was dumped, she probably would have her brothers and sisters with her. They would not have split up. Most likely she got lost.

I have five cats that are the direct result of being dumped. The first was Ruby and she had one kitten. Then came Rhonda and she had three but one didn't make it. Both of these mothers were just barely old enough to mate and I guess their "owners" didn't like the idea of more kittens so out these two went to fend for themselves. Luckily, they found my place and the rest, as they say, is history. I already had five living indoors with me, all rescues of one kind or other, so I wasn't really prepared for five more but the rescues were all full and the only options were to either keep them all or take them to animal control which would have been an immediate death sentence so I kept them. Since then two of oldest have died so I still have eight running all over the place but I could never give them up to be killed.

I am fostered and the live I have lived, the things I have seen, the childhood I did not have and the things that were done to me.. lets just say I know what it is like to be unloved and all alone in the world. All it takes to warm the coldest heart is just a little bit of tender love and some care. This kitty cat proves it beyond any doubt!! I hope Polly has the life she deserves but somehow I think her chances are starting to look a heck of a lot better :) I have one rescue cat here who was beaten so badly that when she lies down you can see where her broken bones healed and it has taken us almost 2 years to bring her around to trust us, know we won't hurt her but to also know we are worth her giving the loves she had to share and by gosh does she let us know she loves us these days. It took years but the outcome for all involved was worth it.
@violet-kittychick3 жыл бұрын
@Chelle Bright It took a lot of bad things that made me who I am.. things that I would not wish on anyone.. things that happened when I was a child that robbed me of any childhood. I just decided to not become bad or like the people who did wrong and bad to me but what I experienced and survived gave me the ability to see from points of view most people can not even comprehend or fathom. I can see when an animal is sooo scared they can barely move and don't know what to do because all they want is to feel safe and love does not even come into it. I know such things because I have been there!! So in a way I communicate with some animals on a level only the damaged can talk and understand and I try to use it to bring them back and sometimes I can. For a few I have given them a place in my home and we all help each other have a better and happier life together where we share love. I believe if love can transcend species then just maybe we are on the right path!! Then again what would I know.. I am just damaged goods that survived because I was strong.. hmm.. before I was 7 years old there was 3 attempts to take my life by murdering me and that is ironically some of the sweeter side hey!! Love and kindness or compassion has more power than so many know.. but such things are dying in the world we are making for ourselves. Just earlier I watched a video of a stray cat in a train station and not one person picked them up. I would have been that one person who did because damaged goods and broken hearts know and understand each other!!
