@@xnoorx I don't know about exact optimal numbers but I know that wild cats eat the whole day (up to 20 kills per day) so for most home cats they should have access to food all they so they learn to regulate themselves. Sometimes this doesn't work and often it does. They eat until they're done. Of course there can be problems but usually it should not.
